Soon after the captain gave the order of cutting all power in the facility, everything but the emergency lights shut down leaving us with the blinking red light to find our way out. I couldn't hear the hum of electricity from the bars anymore. Neither could they because the brown haired man quickly grabs one of the bars and pulls aggressively, letting out a grunt as he does. The door seems to break off almost effortlessly

Holy shit, how strong is this guy?

When his hand had wrapped around the iron poles I caught a glimpse of shiny silver metal from under his biker style gloves. At first I think it's just some type of new armored gloves but looking closer I see that it's his fingers. I want to comment on it but decided to bite my tongue

Not the time

As he yanked the now broken door, it flies behind the two of them with a loud clang while dirt and dust puffs around the fallen door as it collapsed to the floor, allowing me to exit my jail cell. I look between the two massive men and cautiously take a step out, glancing back at my prison cell. A sliver of me thinks this is all a dream. For all I know I could be sleeping in that bed right now and all this isn't real

As I turn to look at the gloved man to give him a nod of thanks, I feel something cold and hard click around my wrist. I instinctively flick my eyes to my newly weighed down wrist, tugging it as I do. My eyes land on a rather thick looking set of handcuffs. One side connected to me while the other is around the captains wrist. My body fills with rage and fear

This was a trap

The captain, Steve, sees my face ignite into a blind fury, sprinkled with fear, and quickly puts his free hand holding the shield up to stop me from attacking. His face stays calm though as I continually smash my fist against his shield and try but fail to also use both hands to break away from him. I try to throw in a few arial kicks but with our bound wrists I can't get the right amount of momentum which only fuels my anger more. All the while his partner was trying to grab me and halt my actions but I simply kicked him back. I'm about to throw another punch at the captain but my free wrist is caught by something cool and much stronger than me. I whip my head to the man that's now successfully holding me still. His eyes bore into mine as they held an understanding and relaxed look in them

My blind rage seems to simmer the more I looked at him, my eyes darting around his facial features. Who.. who is he? Why does he have this affect on me?

My eyes glaze over in fearful tears. "I don't want to get wiped again..." I breathe out a shaky breath. "Please I'll do better, be better. Please don't take me back to the chair.." I know begging never worked, in fact it usually made things worse

Fear and begging were a major sign of weakness and Hydra hates that. But right now I couldn't help it, the overwhelming fear and longing to be free of this place took control of me. Tears rimmed my eyes and the mans expression melted, looking heartbroken at my words. He drops my fist slowly and shakes his head, his entire body language was calm and I didn't sense any form of threat from him

"We're not here to hurt you Amelia," he speaks softly. My head twitches at the name and he notices my sudden change so he stops his sentence. Something in my mind connects

My name is Amelia Hayes

"We're here to rescue you. This," the captain lifts our connected wrists, "is so you don't try to run off." I glance at him and for the first time in what feels like ever, I get an overwhelming sensation of relief wash over me. It was a new feeling but a welcoming one. I'm so used to feeling on edge, distrusting and angry that all these... good feelings were throwing me for a loop
