Alright take deep breaths Amelia

Just breathe

You're only gonna be in close quarters for the night with an ex-master assassin who can't stand the sight of you

What could go wrong?

Oh wait, you could mess something up. Or embarrass yourself and further Buckys distaste towards you. That's what could go wrong

And knowing my luck, that's just what's going to happen

Great...

My anxiety grew more and more with every forced step I took towards the quinjet. My grip on my pre-packed gear bag tightened as I entered the hangar and found Bucky standing at the back of the carrier with his arms crossed over his broad chest. The fabric around his delicious muscular arm stretching to almost its breaking point. The moment he locked eyes with me, I could see his entire body stiffen. He clenched his jaw in annoyance

"They sent you?" He asks with a sour bite to his tone as I approached him and the open back hatch to the jet

Okay first off, ouch

I remind myself to play nice, don't anger the wolf

"Yes, me. There gonna be a problem?" I spoke with more confidence and attitude than I thought was in me, surprising the both of us. I didn't give him a chance to respond before continuing. "Good. Now let's get this over with." I walk past him and onto the jet, avoiding any and all eye contact

I hear him mumble something in Russian under his breath before the sound of his boots follows me onto the ship. The thumping from him reverberating in my chest

I strap my bag down under a seat towards the center of the jet as Bucky crosses the space and sits in the copilot spot. I halt my movements as I stare at him, completely taken aback by his choice of seating. He has an entire aircraft full of open spots for him to be as far away as possible from me, yet for whatever reason, he chose one that's less than three feet away from where I'll be. I open my mouth to question him but decide I better not and stop myself short

Don't anger the wolf

I take a few more deep breaths, my nerves skyrocketing once more, before taking my position in the pilot spot, flipping a few switches and closing the back hatch. The engines quickly revved to life while the dashboard and center console lit up like a Christmas tree. I took a moment to buckle myself in but fumbled with the straps. Well, try to buckle myself at least

Whoever last piloted left them all twisted and in a jumbled mess! They looked like how your earbuds look when you pull them out of your pocket! You know what I mean

Who the fuck tied a knot in one of them?! Augh! They're adjustable straps people, come on!

My hands were now shaking from both my nerves and annoyance as I tried prying out the knot. Well, that and my anxiety was through the roof. Damn this knot for being so tight. Did someone play tug of war with it or something?!

What made me even more nervous, and start to sweat, was that I could feel Buckys eyes burning a hole through me, judging my situation and my lack of being capable of fixing it. I huff angrily and decide to just deal with it all. Quickly clicking the mismatched straps together across my chest and lap in an X formation and focused on the runway in front of us. Bucky flipped a couple switches and turned a knob to raise the tires as I started to lift the quinjet and take off out of the hangar
