The next day, all of Wakanda was practically buzzing, with the city and its people getting ready for the upcoming New Years celebration. With everyone prepping and decorating, T'Challa, Shuri and mother Ramonda were incredibly busy trying to keep chaos from spurring and helping with what they could, Shuri sneaking off to her lab as often as she could of course. Whenever Steve, Bucky or I would offer to assist with the planning we'd always get waved away with the whole 'you're the guest so no' spiel
So, we all just did our own things for the day. Which is how I ended up here. In the training room/gym they had connected to the palace. Floating on my back in the natural water in-ground pool. Surrounded by flower buds that were just starting to bloom

The pool itself was roughly the size of a small pool families would have in their backyards. This one was smoothly carved into the stone flooring and didn't have any harsh fluorescent lights installed. Instead the entire room used natural sunlight from the large glass ceiling and one of the walls. Though I was told once the sun goes down and if someone wanted to come here there were special bulbs in the beams on the ceiling that would illuminate the room but not harm all the plants within. The water was surprisingly warm and comfortable for not having any sort of heating system installed, but I'll bet it's from the spot being placed where the sun hits it all day until it dips behind the horizon
The room was very spacious. With the natural pool and steam room in the corner closer to the entryway, a large wall of varying weights next to that, and across the open floor on the other side of the room was target practice for the warrior guards and their spears. In the center were multiple square outlines from a shimmering silver strip of metal embedded into the rock flooring for hand to hand training
That's where Steve and Bucky currently were. Bucky wanted to get used to the new mechanics and feel of his arm so he asked Steve to spar with him. He initially asked me but I declined with a sweet smile, telling him 'then I can't enjoy the view'. He immediately flashed that cocky smirk of his and pinched my butt as we exited my room, since he came up there for me in the first place
So yeah, it's been a rest and relaxation day for us. Well, for me I suppose. Since the two men aren't exactly relaxing but, oh well
I sigh out in content, the naturally sourced water filling my skin with its vitamins and nutrients, leaving every inch of me feeling fresh and a little tingly. My hair almost looked like it was frozen in time in the stilled body of water as it just floated beneath the surface, absorbing all the goodies the pool had to offer. The flowers scattered all around provided a soft sweet aroma to the corner of the room, really amplifying the whole 'relax and recharge' vibe
Though my ears were submerged just below the waterline, I heard a grunt, louder than their usual volume, and lifted my head to look over at the men. Doing so made my lower body fully dip below me, allowing me to place my feet on the slick bottom and stand. The water reached just past the tops of my shoulders, maybe an inch up my neck, thanks to my shorter height
