Chapter 81

Bucky and I wait in our suites with our wedding parties, Nat and Wanda changing out of their heels and slipping on the sneakers I put in their goodie bags with me checking my makeup. It also gave our guests some time to move to the reception room and find their seats

It was only 15 minutes because I was chomping at the bit to get back to Bucky

And I guess he felt the same because when I finally pull Nat and Wanda from the room to head towards the reception, we found the boys just past the ceremony room. Bucky catching sight of me and smiling before striding over to grab my hand. Bringing it to his lips and kissing my knuckles

"Ready for the fun part?" Nat asks with a teasing half smile and slight arch of her brow

I roll my eyes, dropping my shoulders, "oh absolutely. Lead the way." I gesture down the hall

Nat again loops arms with Steve and heads towards the reception hall. The doors wide open showing everyone inside sitting at tables, some sipping their drinks as the waitstaff go around filling cups. I smile as I grab Buckys hand, lacing our fingers together

Just like at the ceremony, soft piano music begins playing. The guests falling silent and looking to the doorway as Nat and Steve enter, waving at everyone. Followed by Wanda and Sam, Sam deciding to add some flare to his entry by doing a little dance making the whole room laugh. Finally Bucky and I enter, hand in hand, and waving to all our friends

We round the long table at the back of the room, sitting at the center behind a 'Mr & Mrs' sign. Bucky and I decided to skip on any toasts or speeches, so the staff began filing out with everyone's choice of food and topping off any beverages along the way. Of course starting with the bridal party first

Everyone talks amongst themselves at their tables while we ate and laughed. After a long while it seemed like everyone had finished, the food being too good to ignore. I swear the meat just melted in my mouth, and the side salad? Don't even get me started on the dressing used

While everyone digested, I decided to go around and chat with each table. Thankfully there weren't many

The table with Pepper, Tony, Rhodey, And Vision was the closest to ours so they were my first stop. Everyone complimenting how lovely the ceremony was and how beautiful I look. Pepper started talking about how delicious the salad was which made me laugh

The next table was Thor, Peter, his plus one which was the infamous MJ, and Bruce. I think I talked to MJ more than anyone since she was an unfamiliar face. Very unique that one. Thor jumped from his seat to give me one of his signature bear hugs when I first approached. Bruce being quiet and polite like usual, congratulating Bucky and I on a nice ceremony

T'Challa, Shuri, Mother Ramonda, and Strange were next. I know it's a weird seating chart but I figured out of everyone here besides Bucky and Steve, Strange would be the most polite and professional with the Wakandans. Which seemed to work out because as I approached, they all seemed to be in a deep conversation. I didn't catch the topic though since it got cut short the moment I got close

Mother Ramonda gives me a sweet motherly smile, dabbing at her mouth with her napkin before standing and giving me a hug. She smelt heavenly sweet and her dress was so soft

"Thank you all for coming. It means a lot to Bucky and I." I state to the table, mostly towards the Wakandans

Shuri waves away my words with a smile, "we were so shocked the White Wolf was engaged, had to come and see for our own eyes." She teases, getting a light smack to the shoulder by Ramonda

"Honestly everyone here was surprised." I reply with a breathy chuckle

T'Challa stands next, a side smile on his face from the brief interaction, and grabs my hand. Holding it in both of his tenderly. "Congratulations Mrs. Barnes. We are all very happy for you two."
