Not gonna lie, I cried a lil while writing this chapter. Definitely an emotional one so grab some tissues babes <3

We all ran from the building, hearing police and ambulance sirens growing in the distance as they all head to the club. Undoubtedly the team will have to deal with the media and government since I'm sure civilians took pictures of everyone. But we'll deal with that at a later time, bit of an urgency right now. Sticking to the shadows of the alleyways, we make it six blocks until I'm wheezing and need to stop for a breath

The team urging me to keep moving, I instead walk as fast as I can. Tony takes to the sky with Vision, scanning the area for any sort of hiding spot. A place far enough away from civilization to do the transfer since we don't know exactly how intense it'll be

Could be super easy, I just grab the Stone and allow the power to transfer out of me

Could be difficult and destructive

So we're playing it safe

"Head to the bay. There's an empty fish factory we can use." Tony instructs the team, pointing in the direction for us to head

So we start making our way to the spot. Scurrying through back ways and avoiding main roads. When we ran out of hidden paths, we were forced to step out in the open. I ended up shifting because let's be honest, a woman running down the streets of Japan in torn and burned clothes would absolutely draw unwanted attention from both the authorities and any Hydra goons looking for us

Keeping our heads down and moving as inconspicuously as possible whenever a police car zoomed by. The sun was just starting to brighten the horizon, changing the black sky to a dark blue. Meaning our blanket of darkness would be coming to an end within the next hour

Making a few more turns and heading down a long bike path, we finally reach the factory Tony mentioned. Vision doing a quick scope of the perimeter for us before Steve kicked the door open, breaking the lock and allowing us inside. The team shuffles in, Nat closing and securing the door behind us

The building reeked of fish and ocean water, shocking I know. A fish factory smelling like fish? How odd

The walls heavily adorned with old fishermen nets, the ones they throw into the ocean and scoop up hundreds of fish in. Slightly rusty harpoons and anchors. Traditional artwork of boats at sea. Even a few framed pictures of either workers or the owners next to massive totes overfilled with the catch of the day

Stained five gallon buckets placed beneath work tables covered in cuts and scratches from years of gutting fish on them. Machinery used for god knows what, maybe sterilizing the finished cutlets or something. The floors relatively clean besides a few small puddles presumedly from when the workers rinsed off the floors

"So how does this work?" Nat asks as she approaches me, taking pause as she now notices the purple vortex that were my eyes

I shrug and glance to Thor as he unties the leather pouch on his hip containing The Orb. "I'm not sure. I assume I just push the power out of me?"

"Essentially, yes." Thor nods, dumping the ball into his palm and returning the pouch. "But heed my warning Lady Hayes, from here no soul knows what will happen. To you or the Stone." He softens his gaze towards me as he spoke but kept the seriousness about him

"Thanks for that Thor. Very encouraging." Sam quips, watching the fear grow on my face

Thor glances between Sam and I, catching the hint that he probably should've went with something less doom and gloom. "Right. My apologies." He dips his head. "Shall we begin?" He asks
