My eyes widen in horror and I stumble over my footing as we continued the slow movements. My energy spiking beneath the surface, readying itself to strike. I looked up at the man who seemed to be enjoying my reaction just a little too much

Wh- did he just-?

"It's been a while, hasn't it soldier?" He asks, his features darkening with ill intentions. The way he spoke made my insides twist and a wave of nausea set over me

"W-what? Who-" I stumble for words, my fear growing along with my energy in a fight or flight response

"Relax. You wouldn't want to cause a scene with all these innocent people around now would you?" He glances around the room nonchalantly before looking back down at me

Fuck he has a point. I don't know if he's alone or if there are more among the guests. One false move and I could jeopardize dozens of lives

"How did you get in here?" Is the first thing out my mouth as I furrow my brows. Only people with a security coded invite could get in and Friday scanned them all at the gates

"Hydra has its sources and ours was more than happy to help." Aaron looks around at all the people behind me, stopping for a second on someone before continuing his scan

So Hydra did manage to sneak themselves back in

"What do you want?" I ask bitterly. Again Aaron smiles wickedly

"You. To come with me quietly, and no tricks." He motions with his eyes towards my hands

"And if I don't?" I try to redirect us so I can face the guests and my team but Aaron just spins us back in a fluid motion, having predicted I'd do it. He chuckles sinisterly, his features once again turning dark and twisted

"We blow this room and everyone in it sky high." He states with no remorse before pulling my body flush against his and I finally feel the multiple bulky rectangles strapped to his torso

That's why he's got the oversized jacket. He's loaded with C-4

"How many of you are here tonight?" I try to pull my body away from his but he holds me tightly to him. It's weird, I can almost now smell the evil on him

"So many questions. I liked you so much more when you didn't talk." He tilts his head, meeting my gaze as I glare up at him

What the fuck do I do?! I don't know how many other Hydra agents are here. I don't know if they're also loaded with explosives. Hell they might have even planted some around the room!

If I go with him without a struggle... then I'd be saving everyone here. But then I'd be Hydras pet again and end up killing more. And I don't even know if they won't kill everyone here once I'm out of the building. Hydra has a tendency of going against their word

I rip my eyes off of Aaron and stare at my reflection on the window as the gears in my head started to turn. I've got an idea brewing but I'm not sure if it'll work

"Fine. I'll go." I state in a deadpan. From the corner of my eye I see Aaron smile that disgusting toothy smile

"Such an obedient soldier." He whispers, finally releasing me from his grip and motioning me to lead the way out the doors

I clench my fists, building up as much of my energy beneath my palms as I could, and start slowly walking to the exit. My nerves growing with every step as I calculate just how I need to execute my plan. I have to time everything correctly and land the right amount of force for everything to work.
