Lee Jia POV

I quickly returned to where my hair dryer was when I heard the bathroom door unlock.

"I'm going to wake up early tomorrow," Jungkook said as he walked back to the table.

I wiped my tears and turned to face him. "O—okay, sure," I said softly.

I watched him for a few minutes while he quietly worked. My heart ached.

Are you really going to file for divorce? Why?

More tears slipped down my cheeks at the thought of him leaving me. I didn't want to lose him. He was my everything—my strength when I was weak, my inspiration in life.

Whoever Seong Joe is... I'll beg her if I have to. Just don't leave me.

"Hey, are you okay?"

I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up. Jungkook was watching me, concern flickering in his eyes.

I quickly wiped my tears and forced a smile. "Y—yeah, I'm fine. Why?"

"The hair dryer is still on," he pointed out before turning back to his work.

I glanced over and saw it still blowing air. Quickly, I switched it off.

He didn't even ask me why I was crying? Unbelievable.

Jungkook always hated seeing me cry. He would do anything to cheer me up, to make sure I was never sad. But today, he didn't seem to care.

"Hey, D—do you love me?" I asked suddenly, my voice barely above a whisper.

He looked at me, his expression unreadable, then gave a small nod and a smile. But I could tell—it was fake.

"You're tired," he said gently. "Get some rest."

He walked over and took my hand, leading me to bed. I lay down as he pulled the blanket over me. Then, he leaned in and kissed my forehead.

"Good night," he murmured before going back to his desk.

I stared at the ceiling, trying to convince myself.

He loves me, okay? I'm just overthinking. I'm just tired.

I shut my eyes, hoping for sleep to take me away.

_

"I don't love you."

"I'm sorry, but I'm not happy anymore."

"Say whatever you want, but I love someone else."

"Jungkook!"

"Jungkook, don't leave me, please!"

"Please, don't!"

I jolted awake, breathing heavily. My hand clutched my chest as I tried to steady my heartbeat.

"It was just a dream."

I looked around the dimly lit room, sighing in relief. Just a dream. A terrible, heartbreaking dream.

A buzzing sound pulled me out of my thoughts. I reached for my phone on the nightstand—Jihye's name flashed on the screen.

I answered groggily, but before I could even say anything, her voice boomed through the phone.

"Hey! Wake up!"

I flinched, pulling the phone away from my ear.

"I am awake," I muttered.

"Thank God! I was calling you a thousand times! I thought you were dead!" she groaned dramatically.

"I overslept," I said, rubbing my temple as the dream replayed in my mind.

"What happened?" she asked. I could hear her chewing.

"Bad dream," I admitted as I got out of bed and headed downstairs to the kitchen.

"Tell me," she urged.

I hesitated at the kitchen entrance. "I dreamt that Jungkook was leaving me... and that he loved someone else." My voice cracked.

Jihye gasped before letting out an evil chuckle. "I told you! He's been distant lately because he's cheating—"

"Jihye, it was just a dream," I interrupted, but my voice wavered. Tears welled in my eyes again.

"Oh... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, I just—ugh, I'm mad!" she huffed.

I wiped my tears quickly. Think positive, Jia. Don't cry again.

"I need to cook breakfast. I'll talk to you later," I said, ending the call before she could respond.

I inhaled deeply, forcing a smile before opening the fridge. I grabbed some eggs, bacon, and other ingredients, then quietly began cooking.

After finishing my meal, I scrolled through social media while eating. But suddenly, my stomach twisted. A nauseating wave hit me.

I barely had time to react before rushing to the bathroom. I dropped to my knees, vomiting into the toilet.

Why do I keep throwing up?

When it finally stopped, I flushed the toilet and washed my mouth and hands. My body felt weak as I made my way back to the kitchen, placing my empty plate in the sink.

A knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Coming!" I called out.

I placed my glass down and hurried to the door, opening it to reveal Jihye and Jimin holding bags of food.

"Why are you two here?" I said with a small smile.

Jihye barged in immediately, while Jimin lingered at the doorway, studying me intently.

His gaze softened. "Your eyes are swollen... are you okay?"

I forced a smile and nodded. "I'm fine." Without giving him time to ask more, I grabbed his wrist and pulled him inside.

We walked to the living room where Jihye was already sprawled on the couch, flipping through channels.

"How are you feeling?" she asked, stopping at a horror movie.

"I'm fine. I'm full," I said, settling between them.

Jimin's POV

Is she really okay?

I glanced at Jia beside me. Her eyes brimmed with tears.

Why is she crying? We're just watching a horror movie.

I was about to ask when my phone rang.

Excusing myself, I stepped into the kitchen before answering.

"Yes, Jungkook?" I greeted with a chuckle.

"How are you, bro?" Jungkook's voice came through, light and easy.

I sighed, sitting down. "I'm fine. Just hanging out at a friend's house, watching movies. Why did you call?"

"Can we meet today? I want to introduce someone to you."

I raised a brow. "Is this person special?" I teased.

Jungkook exhaled heavily. "Yeah. And you're special too, so I want you to meet them."

Something about his tone made my chest tighten.

"Okay, I'll be there," I said before hanging up.

I returned to the living room, grabbing my things.

"I have to go. I'll be back later," I said.

Jihye gave me a weird look, but Jia simply nodded.

"Okay, take care. We'll see you later," she said sweetly.

My heart raced. Why does she make me feel like this?

"Yeah. Thanks," I stuttered before quickly leaving.

The drive to Jungkook's building felt longer than usual. When I arrived, I parked and headed inside.

The elevator ride to the highest floor was silent. When the doors opened, I stepped out and knocked on his office door.

"Come in!"

I turned the knob and walked in. The moment I saw him, I pulled him into a hug.

"I missed you, bro!" I said, breaking away with a grin.

"How are you?" he asked.

"I'm happy," I replied truthfully.

Jungkook smirked. "Found a girl, huh?"

I chuckled. "Yeah... but she looked sad today."

His expression shifted slightly. "Did you ask if she was okay?"

"No, because you called," I joked, making him laugh.

Just then, the door opened. I turned to see a tall woman with heavy makeup, short hair, and a tight suit.

Something about her felt... off.

Jungkook gestured for her to come closer.

"Oh, by the way," he said. "Jimin, meet Joe."

The woman smiled, and I nodded politely, extending my hand. "I'm Park Jimin, Jungkook's friend. Nice to meet you."

She shook my hand. "I'm Seong Joe."

I studied her for a moment before asking, "And you are...?"

Jungkook answered before she could.

"My girlfriend. She's my girlfriend."

My stomach dropped.

"I see," I murmured.

Something didn't feel right.

And for some reason, my first thought was Jia.
