*four days until the dance*

After what happened last night with Vallyk I think I'm finally ready to say who I'm going to decide. I'm gonna give Vallyk a chance. I mean it makes most sense and I really picture myself with him and my future, I don't know if I see that with Kenny. The only thing is that I have to find a way to tell Kenny that...

I get out of my bed and hop into the shower. I rehearse what I'm going to say to Kenny while the hot water runs down my body all the way to when I'm done with my hair. Update, still got nothing.

I walk downstairs and I guess Kiki could see the worry on my face because she starts to ask me questions

K: what's wrong with you

Y: oh uh... nothing

K: Tell me or give me your phone

Y: what?

K: I may be young but I can still do that

Y: fine. I think I want to say where things go with Vallyk

My heart beams while saying this

But the problem is I have to find a way to tell Kenny that.

K: Ohh, like I said before lying may seem like it's doing everyone a favor but in the long run it's not. You just have to tell. I know it's going to be hard but I think it will be better for him to know now than later

I nod knowing exactly what I have to do

I quickly eat my breakfast then wave to Kiki on my way out.

I get into my car and right when I'm about to start the engine I receive a text from Vallyk.

Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to ride with me to school today, like old times.

I smile, holding my phone to my chest.

I'd love to. On my way.

I get out of my car and walk the few blocks down to Vallyk's house with a spring in my step.

A couple minutes later I arrive to Vallyk's house where he's waiting in his car.

Y: hey

V: hey.

Y: Really glad that you decided to ask me to do this, this is a great way for us to make things go back to normal

There's a couple seconds of silence until Vallyk sighs and speaks what's on his mind.

V: ok im sorry but I don't know if I want things to go back to normal, because I want to be with you and much more than a friend.

I pause not knowing what to say, I don't want to tell him yet. Not until I end things with Kenny.

Y: Why don't we see where this goes before we start taking things further, please.

He nods with a bummed look on his face, putting his full focus on the road ahead.

The rest of the car ride to the school was a little awkward so we both quickly get out of the car as soon as we arrive at school
