Chapter 48 - Community Drive

Second day na ng school affairs week. Only some few students are going to school. It's like a foundation day, but this isn't a foundation day. Bali sa September pa foundation week nila.

Lauren called for a meeting in the SSG room. Kinausap niya na ang principal before the meeting. The principal approved the project and she quickly called the local government to coordinate and to assist the school in this community drive. The principal also pledged 1,500 dollars (Php 225,000) to budgetize the community drive.

Nandoon sa meeting si Taylor at isinama siya ni Lauren.

"Guys, as you can see, nandito si Miss Taylor sa atin, she will help us in this community drive. Kilala na ng lahat si Taylor, ang pinaka-famous na girl ng school!" Lauren said. Lauren made Taylor giggle when she mentioned the word na pinakafamous.

"Sa lahat ng nandito, huwag kayong maniwala na ako ang pinakafamous sa school! Si Lauren talaga yung famous!" Taylor laughed. Everyone laughed as well.

"So yun guys, nagpapasalamat ako na napili ako ni Lauren to partner with you in this community drive. In behalf of our company and the Valientes Group, gusto po naming ipresent sa inyo ang aming tulong na 6,600 dollars (Php 990,000) para sa inyong community drive. Also, we reached out the other companies to help you and the day of the event, they will provide support for you. Also, the Valientes Group and the Stevens Group will synergize to provide seeds and volunteers for the tree-planting project. Yun lamang po at mabuhay po kayong lahat!" Taylor said. Everyone applauded for the help that Taylor provided. In formality, Lindsay took the photo of Lauren and the SSG receiving the check provided by Taylor's family.

"Thank you so much Taylor for sending out your help to us and to the whole school! God will surely bless you for that!" Lauren said.

"Sobra-sobra talaga ang tulong na ginawa mo sa amin. Thank you, Miss Taylor!" Mico said.

"Masaya akong nakatulong ako. At basta kapag may community drive, we really need to help them." Taylor said.

And the meeting has begun. Nanduon parin si Taylor sa meeting para malaman niya rin ang mangyayari tomorrow.

"Okay guys. So, pagplanuhan natin kung anong oras tayo magsisimula ang event." Lauren said.

"I suggest na magsimula tayo ng 6 a.m para sa tree planting project. Kasi mainit na pagdating ng 9 a.m. Mabibilad sa araw ang lahat ng volunteers." Mico said.

"Why not na mahati ang groups into three? Mas maganda kung tatlong groups. Isa para sa mga tree-planters, isa sa mga magdidistribute ng groceries, tapos yung iba naman, sila ang nakatoka para sa mga packed meals for the workers." Leigh suggested.

"Good suggestion Leigh! So, dapat mahati tayo sa tatlong grupo. Sharmaine, pangunahan mo yung sa tree-planting. Do what it takes para makapagcoordinate with the local government for this event. We also need their help." Lauren said. She began to appoint who will lead the activities.

"I agree, ate. Sige po, I'm gonna do everything po para maging organized po ang tree-planting! Leave it to me po!" Sharmaine said with a smile.

"Good! Coordinate ka rin kay ate Taylor mo about that. I-organize mo na." Lauren said. Then, she began to assign the SSG members.

"Mico, Sheki, Jamie and Lindsay, kayo ang maglead para sa pamimigay ng groceries. Sasamahan kayo ni Jem sa pagbili ng mga ididistribute na goods. Jem, ikaw na ang bahalang magpartition ng mga budget na natanggap natin. Carla, help Jem." Lauren ordered.

"No problem Lauren! We'll work it out until we get home. Mamaya, ready na yung allotment ng pera." Jem replied. "So ate, pagtulungan natin ito ah?"
