Chapter 8 - A New Year's Day

Chef Jane and Chef Daniella are busy cooking the New Year's feast. May mga bisita na darating and Rita has hosted a New Year's party inside her house.

Rita went inside Lauren's room. Lauren was doing her school organisation plans. And she's also making some of her projects and thesis.

"Good morning, Lauren!" Rita said and she hugged Lauren. Lauren cuddled her mum.

"Good blessed morning ma. Praise God, it's the last day of the year. Thank you Jesus, we made it!" Lauren said.

"Yes! Anong susuotin mo pala for the tonight's party?" Rita asked.

"Ma, casual lang ma. Hood, cap, pants tsaka skate shoes." Lauren replied.

"Ayaw mong mag-formal?" Rita asked.

"Ayoko po ma." Lauren replied.

"I see. Tsaka ang totoo niyan, dapat talaga formal lang ang susuotin for the party. But you are an exception." Rita said.

"Ayoko ng gaanong glamorous ma." Lauren said. "Give it all to those models and celebrities."

"Haha! Okay. Basta, wear your best kahit na casual! And don't forget to invite your friends. Mas madami, mas masaya." Rita said.

"Sure thing ma! I'll try to invite them po." Lauren said.

11:16 A.M.

Lunch time. Chef Jane and Chef Daniella served Rita's favourite, the beef caldereta with potatoes and without fats. Hiniwalay nila yung kay Lauren dahil gusto ni Lauren na sobrang anghang na pagkain. Lagi nang pinapasabay ni Rita sina Jane at Daniella na kumain.

"Jane, Daniella. Good job to you. Tonight, wear your best party clothes! You'll be joining us for the tonight's party!" Rita said as they started to eat.

"Salamat po ma'am! It is an honour po na makasama kami sa party na inorganise niyo!" Jane and Daniella said.

"Wala yun. Talagang kasama kayo duon! Kung gusto niyo ng damit, I'll give you some." Rita said.

"Ma'am, kahit huwag na po!"

"Okay then. Basta mamaya ah, umattend kayo ng party mamayang gabi." Rita said.

"Opo ma'am. Salamat po ulit." Chef Jane said.

"Lauren, may damit ka na?" Kate asked.

"Opo 'te." Lauren replied.

"Ano?" Kate asked again.

"Mamaya malalaman mo ate." Lauren said with a wink.

"Okay. Sana bagay sayo ang isusuot mo." Kate adviced.

"Oo naman po ate!" Lauren said.

Later that day, Lauren sent invitations to the New Year's party. Some of them won't be able to join.

Pero, may isang sumagot ng oo. The girl said, "Sure. Makakapunta ako."

And her name is Althea Lee. Althea is Lauren's classmate. (Moira Dela Torre)

Makakapunta daw si JP sa party at kasama niya ang parents niya.

Sina Erica at Christine, hindi pinayagan dahil meron ding salubong ng New Year ang respective families nila. Si Tessa, gustong pumunta pero wala siyang magagawa, nasa London pa siya together with her family. Si Taylor, hindi din makakapunta.
