"Whoever makes the best and most difficult potion, will win this Felix Felicis." Professor Slughorn was giving out lucky potions instead of actually assigning some type of project. Of course (Y/N) wanted to win, but one Slytherin called Severus was a prodigy in potions and she was sure he was going to be the winner.
But her thoughts were interrupted by the loud laugh of a group of Gryffindors; once again, classes were shared with them. It was difficult to actually learn with their obnoxiously loud conversations.
Professor Slughorn continued, "It can be any kind of potion as long as it's not dangerous. Don't even bother buying it from somewhere else, as I will ask about how you did the potion. You may have 4 classes to work on this." His demeanor changed to a more friendly one, "You may start."
(Y/N) had the perfect potion in mind: Wolfsbane Potion. She had read about it some time ago and it was on the 'most difficult potions to do' list.
The potion was used to help people that suffered from lycanthropy and allowed them to keep their minds even after the transformation. The ingredients were quite expensive, but thankfully the Hogwarts' potions supplies were full.
She was the first one to go to the ingredients closet, as everyone else didn't have an idea on what would be the most difficult potion and were checking their books. There, she bumped into someone.
Severus Snape always had a scowl on his face and was slightly crouched, and was said to be hanging with a Gryffindor muggle-born. Muttering a quick apology, she started taking some of the complex ingredients out of the closet and retiring back to her seat next to Sam.
Though, going for ingredients was proved useless since the rest of the class was spent reading about how to do the potion without getting intoxicated with some of the poisonous ingredients.
Sam ended up trying to do the Shrinking potion, which was actually harder than the wolfsbane potion. Louis didn't even try, he just grabbed a bunch of ingredients randomly and was going to mix them.
But Slughorn stopped him the moment his potion became a dark green color with brown smoke coming out of it.

Sirius had completely forgotten about most things, as he spent most of his afternoons practicing his transformations. Sometimes James and Peter practiced as well, and by the end of the month, the 3 of them could switch between their animal forms and their human forms with ease.
They planned on showing Remus after they had completely mastered it, which was supposed to be around Christmas. But due to Sirius' wedding invitation, it was postponed until he came back.
Between all those practices and just messing around, the weeks passed fast. Sirius didn't want to go with his parents and with Regulus, and much less to a party full of pretentious purebloods supremacists. Not only would he have to tolerate them, but also be nice to them.
His thoughts were so messy that he forgot something incredibly important: throwing the remains of the Animagi potion to the black lake. He remembered when he was looking for something to wear and found the vial buried between two of his sweaters. He took the container and saved it on his robe, ready to throw it out as soon as classes were over.
The first classes were unsurprisingly boring. Most of them were just him and James bothering the teacher, either with their loud laughs or sarcastic comments that were only funny to the two of them.
