-Levi POV-
I was forced to wait for news… hours had passed and we still hadn’t heard a thing.
‘Damn it, I hate waiting’ I touched the bracelet on my left wrist. ‘Eleanor, please be alright’
The MP’s were forced to help, the useless bastards.
“What a joke” I heard one say. “I thought that this was supposed to be an emergency”
“Yeah, did we just come here to sit on our assess or what?” said another one.
“Hey Levi!” shouted one and I turned around. “Where are you hiding all the Titans?”
“Problem?” I asked. “You seem to be eager to be eaten alive, soldier. Huh, sorry we couldn’t make that happen for you today. Plenty of opportunities outside of the Wall if you’re looking. Lot’s of Scouting expeditions. I’d be more than happy for the help, we can all fight Titans together”
“Well, you know… there’s our work interior, so…”
“Hey! The advance squad is back!” a new arrival shouted. I stood up and went to them.
They told us what happened…
“I see” said Commander Pyxis. “No breach as far as you could tell, correct?”
“That’s correct, sir” said the soldier.
“As I thought” said the Commander.
“But, sir! A situation has developed. You see, we ran into another group on our way back to Trost. It was the Scout Unit lead by Section Commander Hange. There were recruits from the 104th Cadet Corps with them, none of them had equipment. This may sound crazy sir, but three of them were… were Titans!” the soldier shouted.
“What the? Hang on a second, seriously?” asked Jean. “You mean like there were three more? But who were they?”
“What happened when their Titan forms were revealed?” asked Erwin.
“The Scouts faced them, the Armoured Titan and the Colossal head on. But by the time our unit arrived on the scene… it was too late… I’m sorry, sir…” said the soldier to Commander Pyxis. “They took Eren Yeager and your granddaughter, Nora Sato”
“What?” I shouted and they all looked at me.
“There was nothing they could do, most of the team is unconscious, and the horses were on the other side of the wall, sir” said the soldier. I was getting angry.
“Calm down, Levi” said Erwin.
“I’m not going to calm down, not for this. Send me to them” I said.
“You’re still injured. I won’t send an injured soldier for a retrieval mission this important” said Erwin.
“Then I won’t go as a soldier!” I shouted. “I’ll go as a father. Eleanor is my daughter, Erwin. I need to get her back”
“Very well. Get the horses on the wall! We’re going to rescue Eren Yeager and Nora Sato!” shouted Erwin. I got my ODM-gear and began to put it on. I took off my jacket, just wearing a T-shirt.
“Eleanor, heh?” it was Commander Pyxis. “That name suits her”
“Her mother gave it to her before she passed. I always preferred Nora” I said and he laughed.
“She’s been waiting for you, for 11 years. Don’t disappoint her” he said and looked me straight in the eyes.
“I plan to do right by her. Everything I do is for her” I said and he nodded.
“Bring her back to us. Bring my granddaughter home” he said and held out his hand, I took it and shook it.
“I will”

We were riding on top of the Wall.
“We will save her, Levi” said Erwin.
“I know” I said and looked in front of me. “She’s strong, she won’t go down without a fight”
-Flashback 15 years ago-
“Come on, Sarah, push” I said. She was yelling and almost breaking my hand.
“Shut up! You’re not pushing a human being out of you, you clean freak!” she shouted and I laughed.
“I know” I laughed.
Sarah and I were good friends. On a drunk night we slept together, resulting in the situation we’re in now. We decided to have this child together, even if we’re not in a relationship.
“One more push” said the doctor and Sarah screamed.
“It’s a girl” said the Doctor and wrapped our little girl in a towel. He gave her to me.
“She’s beautiful” I said and gave her to Sarah.
“Little Eleanor” she whispered and I laughed.
“Yeah, I’m calling her Nora” I said and she laughed. But her laughing soon turned into coughing. “Sarah?” I asked and took Nora back in my arms.
“Take good care of her, Levi. I know you’ll be a wonderful father” she whispered and closed her eyes.
“Sarah?” I said. She wasn’t breathing. “Doctor!” I shouted. He came back and began CPR.
But it didn’t work… “I’m sorry for your loss” said the doctor. Nora began to cry.
“Shh, little Eleanor. We’ll be okay, we’ll be okay sweetheart” I whispered.
-End of flashback-
“We’re here” said Erwin. I saw Nora’s friends and rode to them.
“Captain Levi” said Armin. He was the one closest to Nora, he looks like a good kid. “I’m sorry, sir”
“It’s not your fault, Armin” I said and laid a hand on his shoulder. “Let’s get her back”
He looked up and he looked determined. “Yes, sir”
“She was unconscious when Reiner took her” said the other brat, Mikasa. “So we don’t know if she’s injured or not. But you can count on one thing. If Eren and Nora regain consciousness… they’ll give the bastards hell, sir”
“Deploy the lifts!” shouted Erwin. Suddenly I saw Hange crawl.
“Hange!” shouted Moblit.
“Don’t just stand there, give me a map” she said.
We got around her and the map and she began to explain. “It’s a gamble, but… the trees in this forest are massive. I say we ride straight for it. See, even if they had a way to cover the Armoured Titan’s footprints, this is almost certain where we would find them”
“Why is that?” asked Erwin.
“They need to recuperate. They have the power to assume Titan form but other Titans on that side of the wall still pose a threat. Especially after putting up such a fight. Yes, Eren was the worst for it, but they’ve got to be spent. You can thank little Levi for that” she said and I rolled my eyes at the nickname for my daughter. “Remember when Annie went out cold? Let’s assume that they’re headed for beyond Wall Maria, that’s not a simple hike, they’ll need all the rest they can get, covering that kind of distance they’re in no shape to make it in one push. And if so, they’d want to catch their breath somewhere other Titans can’t get to them. Odds are, they’ll hold out until it gets dark”

When all the horses were over the wall, we began to ride out. I looked at Armin who rode besides me, he looked determined to save my daughter as well.
‘Hold on, Nora. We’re coming for you’
