Max struggled to fall asleep after the dance. That moment with Jane kept coming to her mind. She totally lost control and was ready to kiss her for no reason! She wondered if she wasn't unconsciously trying to make Gary jealous. She asked Jane to wait for her on the parking lot of the mall. She didn't want the brunette to see where she was living, but especially what kind of people she was living with. She took the bus to go to the mall. When she arrived, Jane was already there, smoking a cigarette next to her car. She didn't know why, but Max felt reassured to see her. It wasn't making sense; she wasn't in danger or something like that. And she should feel embarrassed after what happened at the dance, but she wasn't. When she approached Jane, the brunette held out a cigarette which she accepted. Jane lighted it, and Max took a deep puff of it before asking:

- "You didn't sleep well?"

- "No. Too much punch, probably," Jane answered.

- "You're sure you can drive?"

- "I am. Don't worry. I'm not drunk, I just don't hold the punch."

- "Okay. It's...unexpected."

Jane shrugged. Max really hoped the brunette was not drunk. She didn't seem drunk in fact, but she seemed preoccupied and stressed. It was probably because of the visit. She didn't know if she should ask her or not. They were not very close, except when they almost kissed, but nothing else. They were not sharing secrets or funny stories together. The two girls finished their cigarettes before going in the car. Max took a moment to look around while Jane was starting the car.

- "You wanna listen to the radio or to music?" the brunette asked.

- "Oh, um...as you want," Max answered, uncomfortable.

Jane nodded. She wasn't in the mood for some music, so she put the radio before driving away. Max didn't know if she should talk of not. She was amazed by Jane's driving skill; she was understanding better why she passed it easily. But as she was going to spend the entire day with her, she preferred breaking that silence by saying:

- "Can we talk about yesterday?"

- "What happened yesterday?" Jane answered without looking away of the road.

- "You know, when we were smoking..."

- "Okay. What about that?"

- "I...I don't know what would have happened if this guy-"

- "We would have kissed," Jane cut. "And then what?"

- "Um...You don't think it's weird?" Max frowned.

- "You're not the first girl who wanna kiss me."

- "Wow, it's so conceited!"

- "It's not. It's true. I'm not trying to say that I'm super hot or whatever, but apparently everyone decided it so, people wanna try to do things with me."

- "You think I think you're super hot!?" the redhead asked with an upset tone.

- "I just think you began to look at me the same way Clara did the first day I entered this school. That's all. I'm not blaming you! I mean, if I was against it, I wouldn't have leaned too."

- "I can't tell if you're an asshole or not."

- "I am. I mean, you've always known it, right?"

- "Yeah, but I thought you could be not a complete asshole!"

- "Look, it's fine, you regret it, I understand-"

- "I've never said I was regretting it."

Jane found nothing to answer. She wasn't expecting Max to say that. She frowned without looking away of the road.
