Chapter 27

Abhi: Pehle wo bhi nahi janta tha ki hum hi hai Ritika ke past ka hissa hai. Par jab hum sabne aur Randeep ne realise kiya yeh sab, wo humse badla lena chahta hai. Ritika humari dost thi school mein, lekin usko Siddharth pe obsession tha. Humne usse samjhane ki koshish kari ki usse obsession hai, pyaar nahi, aur Sid usse pyaar nahi karta. Phir agle saal usne school change karli toh humare connections toot gaye. Par usne 2 saal baad, jab humara college shuru hone wala tha, suicide kar liya. Randeep ko usne bola tha ki hum teeno ki wajah se uski life kharab ho gayi aur humne usse dhoka diya jiski wajah se wo depression mein chali gayi, par asal mein, ye sab usne kaha, kyunki usse Sid nahi mila. Jab Randeep ne hume bataya ki Ritika ne kya kiya hai, hum sab shocked the, woh thi toh humari dost hi. Wo Siddharth ke against nahi boli kuch bhi kyunki usse Siddharth pe obsession tha. [Earlier even he didn't know about us being a part of Ritika's past. But when we four and Randeep found out, he wanted revenge. Ritika was our school friend but had an obsession on Siddharth. We tried to make her understand it's obsession not love and that Sid doesn't love her. Then next year she changed school so our connections broke. But two years later ,when our college was about to begin, she suicided. She had said Randeep that we three spoiled her life and betrayed her, which led to her depression, all this just because she didn't get Sid.  When Randeep said us everything, we were too shocked as in the end she was our friend only. She didn't say anything against Sid because of her obsession.]

Avu: Oh. Mujhe samajh nahi aa raha ki kaise react karu. Isme kisi ki galti nahi hai. Randeep ki nahi ki wo apni behen se itna pyaar karta hai aur aap teeno ki bhi nahi. Lekin Ritika ko jhoot nahi bolna chahiye tha. Aapki us fourth friend ka naam kya hai? Aur ab usse touch me nahi ho? [Oh. I don't know how to react. It isn't any of your fault. Not Randeep's that he loves his sister very much and not of you three also. But Ritika shouldn't have lied. What is your fourth friend's name? You aren't in touch with her anymore?]

Abhi: Ye sab mai tujhe abhi nahi bata sakta.  [I can't tell you all that right now.]

I nodded.

Avu: Waise aapko kaam kya tha? Aapne phone par bola tha ki kuch kaam hai. [Btw what work did you have? You had said on call that you have some work.]

Abhi: Wo Vaishu ke baare mein baat karni thi. Uski tabiyat kharab rehti hai, par na dawayi leti hai na doctor ke paas jaati hai. Dawayi ya doctor ka naam lete hi gussa chalu kar deti hai, mai, maa aur Sid samjha samjha kar thak gaye hai use. [I had to talk about Vaishu. She is very ill, but doesn't takes medicines or go to doctor. As soon as we say about medicines or doctor, she gets angry, I, mother and Sid are tired of explaining her.]

Avu: Hua kya hai unhe? [What has happened to her?]

Abhi: Woh bahut kam khati hai, aur bahut chakkar aate hai use, kabhi kabhi behosh bhi ho jaati hai, shayad kamzori se. Hum use aur khilane ki koshish karte hai toh bhaag jaati hai. Maa bhi aaram karne ko bolti hai toh wo nahi maanti hai, aur Sid ke peeche toh belan leke bhagti hai wo uske sath masti kare ya doctor ka bole toh. Tu usse baat karke dekh aur possible ho toh uska check tu hi karde. [She eats very less, and keeps feeling dizzy, she even fainted a few times, maybe due to weakness Whenever we try to make her eat more she runs away. When maa asks her to take rest she doesn't agree, and runs behind Sid with rolling pin if he does any mischief with her or asks her to visit a doctor. You try and talk to her and if possible you yourself do her check up.]

Avu: Ok. Mera kaam 2-3 ghanto mein ho jayega phir direct aapke ghar aa jaungi, aap address text kar dena. [Ok. My work will finish in 2-3 hours then I'll directly come to your home, you text me the address.]

Abhi: Mai tujhe le jaunga. Paas mein mujhe bhi kuch kaam hai toh saath mein chale jayege. [I'll take you. I also have some important work nearby, after that we can go.]

Avu: Ok. Waise mujhe aapka profession hi nahi pata. [Ok. Btw I don't know your profession only.]

Abhi: Fashion designer.

Suddenly some sound was heard.

Voice: 342. I repeat 342.

Avu immediately stood up.
