Criminal/s (Chapter 71)

Ash came out and looked around for Abhi. She found him soon and went to him. 

Ash: Hello bhai. 

Abhi: Hey Ash. 

They both left for Abhi's home, talking on the way. They reached and Ash was immediately engulfed into a hug by Vaish, as Abhi held Vaishvik who was in Vaishu's arms when she came down. 

Vaish: Tujhe itne time baad mil rahi hu. Warna tu humesha shoots mein busy rehti hai. [I am meeting you after so long. Otherwise you are always busy in shoots.]

Ash: Sorry di, ab aa gayi hu na. [Sorry sister, now I have come right.]

Vaish: Ha ha, sirf Sid ko Avu ko propose karne mein help karne ko. [Yeah yeah,just to help Sid propose Avu.]

Vibha: Ash, tu aa gayi. [Ash, you came.]

Ash: Namaste aunty. 

Vibha: Andar chalo na beta. [Come inside.]

Abhi: Mai Sid ko phone kar deta hu. [I'll call Sid.]

He went to call, as others went inside and Vibha went to kitchen to get water for Ash. Abhi came back after sometime. 

Abhi: Noor, Sid pooch raha hai ki aadhe ghante baad nikal sakte ho kya? [Noor, Sid is asking if you both can leave half an hour later?]

Ash: Ha. 

Abhi: Sid, Vaishu aur Ash nikal jayege aadhe ghante mein. [Sid, Vaishu and Ash will leave after half an hour.]

Avu's POV: 

I and Sid were in the hall, playing with Sana after he came back after attending a call. I am trying to call Ash since morning but she won't pick it up. Just then my phone rang, it was Vishal. 

Vish: Hey Avu. 

Avu: Hello Vishal. 

Vish: Avu, Ashu ne tera phone uthaya hai kya? Mera utha hi nahi rahi hai. [Avu, did Ash pick your calls? She isn't picking up mine.]

Avu: Mai bhi subah se koshish kar rahi hu, par wo utha nahi rahi hai. Bas woh thik ho. [I am trying since morning, but she isn't answering. I hope she is fine.]

Vish: Hmm, woh apna phone kahi bhool gayi hogi ya charge nahi kiya hoga. Humesha ki baat hai, aur idhar hume uski tension lagi rehti hai. [Hmm, she might have forgotten her phone somewhere or might have not charged it. She does this every time & we get tensed for her.]

Avu: Acha abhi mai rakhti hu. Aur uska phone aaye toh use chodna mat. [Ok now I'll keep the call. And if she calls don't leave her.]

Vish: Mai use waise bhi nahi chodunga, kabhi bhi. [I won't leave her anyways, ever.]

Avu: Bhai, yeh sab tu apni Ashu ko bolna. [Bro, tell all this to your Ashu only.]

Vish: Uski toh mai bas sunta hu. [I only listen to her.]

Avu: Vishal, pehle hi tension se mera dimaag kharab hai, mujhe aaj pata nahi kyu lag raha hai kuch galat hone wala hai. [Vishal, already my brain isn't working due to tension, don't know why I am feeling today something wrong is about to happen.]

Vish: Itni tension mat kar tu. Kuch nahi hoga. [Don't take so much tension. Nothing will happen.]

Avu: Hmm. 

Vish: Acha mai rakhta hu, bye. [Ok I'll keep the call now, bye.]

Avu: Bye. 

I turned to find Sid and Sana not there, and heard some giggling from upstairs. I went there to see him changing her diaper. I just kept looking at them, but I couldn't shake off the feeling of something wrong is going to happen. It kind of scares me, knowing I am in danger. I can fight it off well, but I can't risk others. My thoughts were broken when I felt a warm breath on my face, and saw Sid standing just in front of me. Sana was still on the bed, throwing off the pillows. I looked up at Sid, who was looking at me. 

Avu: K..kya hua? T..tum ya..yaha kyu khare ho? [Wh..what happened? Wh..why a..are you standing here?]

I stuttered a bit to our proximity. 

Sid: Tum tabse yahi par khadi thi, aur pareshan dikh rahi thi. Maine itni baar bulaya par jawab nahi de rahi thi. Hua kya hai? [You are standing here since long and looked tensed. I called you so many times but you didn't respond. What has happened?]

Avu: Mujhe aisa lag raha hai jaise aaj kuch galat hone wala hai, aur bahut ghabrahat ho rahi hai. Upar se Ash bhi phone nahi utha rahi hu. [I am feeling like something bad is going to happen, and I am feeling very anxious. Even Ash isn't picking my calls.]

Sid: Avu aisa kuch nahi hoga, tu zyada mat soch. Aur Ash se subah bhabhi ki baat huyi thi. Wo thik hai, bas kal uski late night shoots the toh so rahi hogi. [Avu, nothing will happen, you don't think so much. Ash had talked to bhabi today morning. She is fine, but had night shoots yesterday so might be sleeping.]

I sighed in relief, at least she was safe. But then what is going to happen? 

Sid: Avu, mujhe pata hai tujhe abhi bhi chinta ho rahi hai, par tu itni tension mat le. Teri beti tujhe bula rahi hai. [Avu I know you are still worried, but don't take tension. Your daughter is calling you.]

I smiled at him, before going to Sana and picking her up. We both went back downstairs. Just then the bell rang and I opened to see no one. I went back inside but Sid wasn't there. Suddenly the lights went off. Just then I saw a man, whose face I couldn't see due to dark, but what shocked me, was he was holding a gun. And I knew it wasn't Sid, or any officer. He was standing in a position any trained officer wouldn't , but an experienced criminal would. I slowly went towards the place I had hid my knife and took it. But the man still hadn't noticed me. But how did he come inside? Just then I remembered I have left the door open. And Sana is in danger. Sid can save himself, but Sana is in danger. He can protect her, but I can't risk their lives. Just then I felt a hand on my shoulder, and immediately held the person's wrist, and pulled him/her in front of me and kept my knife on the neck, the knife making contact with her skin but not hurting, it was a girl.
