Chapter 43

I looked towards the door to see I never closed it after Vishnoor left. I shook my head at my own stupidity before bringing my phone to my ear. 

Avu: Hello. 

Abhi bhai looked at me before continuing down the steps carefully, not wanting to slip himself. 

Adam: Avu, are you okay? Why were you screaming? I am on my way to your house. 

Avu: Nahi, Abhi bhai idhar hai. [No, Abhi bhai is here.]

I said suddenly then realised Abhi bhai is also listening. 

Avu: Mera matlab Abhi bhai hai yaha, isliye aapko aane ki zarurat nahi hai chachu. [I mean Abhi bhai is here, you don't have to come uncle.] 

Adam: Chachu? [Uncle?]

His voice was filled with happiness. Like he always wanted me to call him that making me smile. 

Avu: Yeah. Have they left?

I asked referring to the ladies who are supposed to help Vaishu di and mum. 

Adam: Yeah. I have sent you their photos, you can send them to Vibha and Vaish so they can confirm it's them only. 

Avu: Thank you. 

Adam: Hmm. Bye. 

Avu: Bye. 

I cut the call to see Abhi bhai had made me sit on the sofa and was waiting for me to keep the call. 

Abhi: Avu, dhyaan se nahi chal sakti, lag gayi na. Aur gate khula nahi hota ya mai time pe nahi aata toh? [Avu can't you walk properly, you got hurt now. And what if the gate wasn't open or I wouldn't have come on time?]

Avu: Sorry, mera dhyaan nahi tha, toh maine paani nahi dekha. [Sorry, my attention wasn't here, so I didn't notice the water.]

He sighed before asking me if its hurting. It was, but not much so I didn't want him to worry. 

Avu: Nahi. Zyada siddiyo mein nahi giri mai. Aur sorry aapko suddenly bulane ke liye, Vaishu di ki tabiyat kharab hone ke baad bhi. [No. I didn't fall down many stairs. And sorry for suddenly calling you, despite Vaishu di being ill.]

I said looking down. I know Vaishu di is fine, but he must be so worried for her. He lifted my chin making me look at him before smiling. 

Abhi: Koyi baat nahi. Aur waise bhi mummy hai Vaish ke sath. Aur agar tumne mujhe nahi bhi bulaya hota toh bhi Vaish mujhe ghar ke bahar nikal deti aur mai yahi aata. [It's fine. And mummy is there with Vaishu. And if you wouldn't have called me Vaishu would have sent me no thrown me out and I would have come here.]

I laughed at his last line which he said jokingly. I tried getting up but fell down on the couch again cause I had twisted my leg.
