Sana: Mummy.
Avu: Hmm?
Sana: Aarush abhi tak nahi aaya hai. [Aarush hasn't come yet.]
Avu: Kya? Aaj toh wo gaya. Sid roz daant ta hai, phir bhi late tak bahar rehta hai. [What? Today he is gone. Sid scolds him everyday, yet he stays out till late.]
Sana: Papa thodi hai ghar par. [Dad is not at home though.]
Avu: Use na ghar par hone ki zarurat nahi hai apne bete ke karname jaan ne ke liye. [He doesn't have to be at home to know his son's deeds.]
Just then Aarush came there.
Aarush: Hello mom, hello di.
Avu: Apna hello baadme hi bol lena, pehle ye bata kaha reh gaya tha tu? [Tell you hello late, first tell me where were you?]
Aarush: Mere dost ka accident ho gaya... [My friend got into an accident...]
Avu: Kya? Tu thik toh hai na? Lagi toh nahi kahi par? [What? Are you fine? You didn't get hurt right?]
She said checking him.
Aarush: Maa, mera nahi mere dost ka accident hua tha, mai use hospital le gaya isliye aaj itna late ho gaya. [Mom, my friend had an accident, not me, I took him to the hospital that's why I got late today.]
Avu: Ha, baaki roz apne dosto ke saath hi raaste mein rukh jata hai aadhe ghante, aur phir apne papa se daant khata hai. [Yes, other days you stop with your friends only in the way for half an hour, then get scolded by your father.]
Arush: Sorry, abse aisa nahi karunga. [Sorry, I won't repeat it.]
Avu: Jaa jakar kapde badal kar aa. [Go and change your clothes.]
Aarush: Chachu, chachi, Viki bhaiya aur Abhinavi kaha hai? [Where are uncle, aunt, Viki bhaiya and Abhinavi?]
Avu: Woh tere chachu ke dost ke ghar gaye hai. [They have gone to your uncle's friend's home.]
Sid also came home. All sat down and finally Aarush came.
Sana: Itni der lagti hai change karne mein? [Does it take so long to change?]
Avu: Aur nahi toh kya, apni gf se baat kar raha tha kya? [What else, were you talking to your gf?]
Sid and Aarush choked on the food they were eating.
Sidush: Avu/ Mom.
Aarush: Meri koyi gf nahi hai mom. [I don't have any gf mom.]
Sid: Aise hi thik hai. [It's better that way.]
Avu just ignored their words. Sana chuckled. It was an everyday thing, Avu is waiting for the day when Aarush will search a girl for himself, but Aarush isn't interested in dating at all, and Sid being a protective father, didn't want it also. He is more protective over Aarush than Sana. To Sana he more like a friend. While Avu is the one more protective on Sana, and doesn't want her to have a boyfriend which Sid has no problem with till the boy is good. She became Aarush's friend with whom he could share everything. After that Avu and Aarush went to sleep, while Sid took Sana to the terrace and both sat on the swing there.
Sid: Kya batana tha? [What did you want to say?]
Sana: Aapko kaise pata mujhe kuch batana hai? [How do you know I wanted to say something?]
Sid: Aise hi tera papa nahi hu. [I am not your father just like that.]
Sana: Woh mera ek boyfriend hai. [I have a boyfriend.]
Sid: Wow congrats. Ladka kaun hai aur kaisa hai? [Wow congrats. Who is the boy and how is he?]
Sana: Aapko koyi problem nahi hai? [You don't have any problem?]
Sid: Na, kyunki mujhe tere decision par bharosa hai, aur tu 18 ki ho chuki hai. [No, because I trust your decision, and you are 18 already.]
Sana: Toh Aarush kyu nahi? [Then why not Aarush?]
Sid: Woh sirf 15 ka hai abhi aur...[He is only 15 and...]
Sana: Aap bahut protective ho uske liye. [You are very protective for him.]
Sid nodded.
Sid: Acha ab tere boyfriend ke baare mein bata. [Ok now tell me about your boyfriend.]
Sana: Woh bilkul bandar ki tarah hai, mujhe jangli billi bulata hai. Par woh bahut sweet aur caring bhi hai. Uski aankhe bahut sundar hai, aur use black pehen ne ka bahut shauk hai, isliye mai use kala chor bulati hu, mera dil jo chura liya. Woh gymnastics mein bhi bahut acha hai, aur sirf uska naam sunne se ya shakal dekhne se mujhe khushi hoti hai, smile apne aap aa jati hai mere face par. Hum dono bahut jhagadte hai lekin jhagadte wakt woh jo irritated face banata hai na, bahut cute lagta hai. [He is just like a monkey, and calls me a wild cat. But he is very sweet and caring as well. His eyes are very beautiful and he loves wearing black, that's why I call him black thief, after all he stole my heart. He is really good at gymnastics as well, and I get very happy by just hearing his name or seeing his face, a smile forms on my face by itself. We fight a lot but when he makes an irritated face while arguing he looks so cute.]
She said dreamily. Sid was the one with whom she would share everything.
Sid: Woah, lagta hai bahut khush rakhta hai woh tujhe. [Woah, looks like he keeps you very happy.]
Sana: Ha. Pata hai woh meri choices bhi humesha maanta hai, aur kuch galat karu toh sahi karta hai. [Yes. You know he always accepts my choices, and if I do anything wrong he makes it right.]
Sid smiled looking at her, she was completely in love with him.
Sid: Mujhe milna hai usse. [I want to meet him.]
Sana: Huh?
Sid: Jo meri beti ko itna khush rakhta hai, usse milna toh banta hai. Aur jab tak usse nahi milunga, teri maa ko kaise manayege? Itna aasan thodi hai. Tumhara boyfriend hai sunte hi woh tension mein aa jayegi. [I should meet the person who keeps my daughter so happy. And till I don't meet him, how will we convince your mother? It is not so easy. She'll be tensed hearing you have a boyfriend.]
Sana: Ok kal bulaungi. [Ok I'll call him tomorrow.]
Sid: Naam kya hai? [What is his name?]
Sana: Ali.
Next day Sid met Ali, who was just like Sana had described him. Sid had even said Sana managed to find a very handsome boy after he left, making Sana go red. Later with a lot of difficulty they convinced Avu as well. Though Ali had to face so many questions, after meeting Sid he was relaxed, he couldn't even think Sana's mother would be the one who would make it difficult for him. Aarush was seeing them and imagining what would happen if he every fell in love, just that Sidneet's places would be exchanged.
