It was a bad idea.

"Izuku?" Kota tapped Izuku on his shoulder, zapping him out of his mind and back into reality. The greenette blinked a few times, peering around the area, before his mind caught up with what was happening.

"Oh, hey Kota. Sorry I was zoning out."

They were inside, sitting down on a booth-seat in the downstairs restaurant. It was a slow hour, people strolling about outside on the hot pavement. Teens walked in packs, children ran to the park, and adults regretted not calling in sick for work.

Inside the restaurant-house, the AC was powered on. Making the indoors a nice breezy sanctuary from the hot and humid outdoors. Heck, some customers just came inside for a bit of cool shade. While others came in for a refreshing beverage or a small, light and cool desert. It was nice as it was a slow hour, not one person staying inside for too long: people had places to be and people to see.

Speaking of places to go, one of the reasons it was currently a slow hour was because of the market down the block. They got fresh fruit supplied around this time, and people went crazy for them. Their fruit they sell is made as good as it is with the help of some quirk infused natural soil, and probably some sort of witchcraft. Their fruits there were dangerously good. Actually, so good that they supplied Dabi and Shigaraki with an abundance of fruit for smoothies.

It wasn't necessarily a hot day outside, but just earlier that day some sort of villain rampage happened on the other side of town. And of course whoever the villain was had some sort of quirk that messed with the weather. Living in a super human society had its down points a lot, thats for sure.

Kota huffed, crossing his arms with a cute pout-scowl. He sat on the bench across from Izuku, the two of them seated at a window-booth. "You've been zoning out all day!"

Izuku inwardly winced, "Yeah, I'm sorry Kota. It's just something's been on my mind..." He really needed to pull it together.

It was such a mistake. Why did he do it? Why didn't he just... leave it alone?

"Don't be sorry! You can make it up to me by giving me a coffee and playing a board game with me!" Kota smiled wickedly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He was kidding, he didn't mind Izuku zoning out-Izuku zoned out a lot, but for the past day or two he has been doing it more than usual. Kota was poking fun, and was about to return back to his conversation about why alligators should be purple instead of green-

Izuku nodded and stood up, "Sure, let me get them."

"...what?!" Kota exclaimed as Izuku walked away, his eyes wide. "How did... what? That works?!" Izuku never let him and Eri have coffee at this time-let alone at all, they had to be lucky for them to score some coffee. But Izuku giving him a coffee in the afternoon?

Is the world ending? Or is Kota just going insane?

Either way, Kota wasn't complaining. He was too excited about his drink to rethink on Izuku's odd behavior. Oh well, that alligator story will have to wait for the game...

Admittedly, Izuku never knew when to give something up. He kept trying and trying-and that is a good skill to have. To keep trying. But Izuku never learned when to stop or leave a situation that he knew was bad.
