Ashlyn's POV

All our friends were at an amusement park. I know all of them are aware I have a crush on Big Red. They want me to tell him, but I'm too scared. It's embarrassing if he doesn't like me back. Some of them think he does, but I'm not so sure.

The only low about this amusement park is, like most ones, is heights. I'm not too scared of them, but they're a little creepy.

I don't think it was a coincidence that Big Red and I were right next to each other on the ferris wheel. All other couples quickly grouped up, and EJ, Kourtney, and Gina sorted themselves out before we could.

So there I was, riding with Big Red. This was fine. It moved fast enough, it just felt like we were friends. Until the ride stopped working, and we were stuck in place at the top of a ferris wheel, a few inches away from each other.

Well, we were a few inches away, until I scooted closer in fear before I could stop myself, almost falling on him. "Sorry!"

"It's fine." Big Red smiled at me.

"Yeah, um, okay." I sat up straight. A minute of silence later, I spoke again. "This is... a little creepy."

"I can see how it could be." He nodded. "We'll be fine though."

"Yeah." I looked at my phone, getting a text from Nini.

Tell him already, it's the perfect time. Ricky says he likes you.

"Hey Big Red?" I asked, then immediately regretted.

"Yes?"

"Never mind, sorry." I apologized.

"Okay." He said. I texted Nini back.

Maybe later??

I looked back up, looking around, my eyes widened as I looked down. "You alright?" Big Red asked me. He's too sweet. No one would've noticed such a small thing.

"Just a bit scared of heights. It's not too bad." I said.

"Okay. Um... Ashlyn?" Before I could answer, he continued. "How would you ask someone you like out?"

"Um... I'm struggling with that myself." I said, fidgeting with my hands. He liked someone else.

"Oh. You like someone?"

"U- Uh, yep."

"Oh." He said again. "You should go for it. They're lucky."

"Same to you." We both looked away from each other. "Do I know them?" I got the courage to whisper.

"You more than know them." He said, just as quiet as I was.

"So, like a friend? Gina, Kourtney, or—"

"No, more than that too."

"Like... EJ?"

"No way! He's their— your cousin!" Did he say their? Like, they is also me?

"So... um, who is it?" I asked again.

"Well... who's yours?"

"Just a guy." I thought his straight face turned into a frown, but I couldn't be sure.

"Oh." He said, for the third time.

"Except he's like really sweet and cute and I want to tell him but there's no way he likes me." I rambled. "He's also really funny and sometimes oblivious but in the cutest way."

"Sounds like me." He said, before forcing a laugh. "I mean, except the cute thing, that's obviously subjective, and you don't like me, and I would like you back and—" He rambled too.

"You would like me back?" I whispered.

"I... I mean, I do like you." He admitted, filling me with excitement.

"Well, I, um, like you too." I smiled shyly.

"Oh." This time it was shocked, but happy.

"Not to get off topic, but... how many of our friends our like, placing bets on us?" I joked. "They keep telling me to ask you out."

"I think Ricky has one that you'll ask first. Jokes on him. Kinda." He smiled. "I mean, I admitted it first, I didn't ask you out— do you want to go out?"

"Of course." I smiled, shyly slipping my hand in his.
