Bang! I heard the vampire's corpse hit the floor. Zero's arm fell to his side, I felt his chest heaving. He had managed to pull me so close to him that I could feel his racing heartbeat.

"Why didn't you do anything, idiot," Zero huffed as he let me go. I smiled slightly as I turned around to face him. My Zero was back.

"I can't believe it's almost time for the ball!" Yuki hopped from one foot to the other in excitement.

"And exams," I reminded her tying my hair up however my fringe still fell in my face.

"I can already tell I'm gonna fail!" Yuki groaned dragging her feet as we walked over to the Moon dorm. "I just realized you and Zero never finished that sparring match we started on the first day."

"Oh, I completely forgot about that," I admitted.

"We should probably settle it sometime." Yuki tucked her hair behind her ear and I glimpsed something on her neck. Bite marks.

I took in my pale completion in the mirror on my room's wall. I might as well have been a vampire. Since I arrived at Cross Academy I had never had more time outside in my life... My hand drifted up to my neck where my tie was done up a bit to tight for comfort. I almost ripped it off because I tried to loosen it so fast. I placed my hand on my chest after trying to calm my racing heartbeat. Why was it getting worse now?

"Zero, you in there?" I asked, knocking on his room's door. I needed to talk to him urgently.

"Yes." I opened the door and found him sitting on his bed, rummaging through tons of Vampire Hunter weapons.

"Where'd you get all of those? Actually don't answer that," I sighed, " It was Yagari wasn't it?"

"Ding, ding, ding," Zero said not looking at me," He said we need to be more prepared for missions and that Kisa might be told what happened depending on wether or not you are more careful. " I groaned. "Anyway why did you come here?"

"I wanted to talk to you about something."

"What?"

"Is Yuki giving you her blood?"
