As I was pulled out of the building by the robed man I looked around trying to get a sense of where I was. From the looks of it, I was somewhere in the town near the school. Maybe I could make a break for it and run back to the school. But no sooner had that thought entered my head than I was pushed into a carriage.

"What about the other girl Okamoto?" the man at the front of the carriage asked.

"Rinji wasn't able to get her, she fought back," Okamoto said before ducking into the carriage after me," This one is to go straight to the duchess." He pulled the carriage door shut and slumped down in the seat opposite me.

"Who's the duchess?" My voice came out quieter than intended.

"Quiet, the only reason Rinji hasn't cut out your tongue yet is that the duchess doesn't like damaged goods," Okamoto narrowed his eyes at me. The carriage lurched forward and the steady sound of the horses' hooves on stone was the only sound in the silence. A dull hump sounded from the tump of a carriage which made Okamoto sit up straight. He hung his head out the carriage window but the thick fog obscured my vision anything outside and I doubted that he could see anything either.

"Is everything alright out there Shizue?" Okamoto called.

"It's gonna be fine, I've just got to stop a second."

The carriage came to a stop and another thud like a body hitting stone sounded.

"Shizue?" Okamoto swung the door open and stepped out into the fog but a thump sounded once again but this time was followed by the crunch of bones breaking. I really knew what that sounded like because, because...

A figure emerged out of the fog and held out their hand to me. It was a girl. She had short silver hair and pale violet eyes stared into mine. Seiren.
