DC is having a hard time fighting them, being extra snappy with the states and locking himself in his office. He's having more flight episodes and overworking himself more.
He's convinced no one would care if he just went back to Washington and doesn't come back.

Does this stem from a phone call from his father after he tried cutting him off but Confederation cut him down so hard that he couldn't? Maybe (yes).
