Arlette POV

I took a deep breath and quickly threw an apron over my head and tied it behind me, all as I can hear the chaotic hustle and bustle from inside the dining room. I've never really been a waitress of course, but if Harry tells me I have to be a waitress then I have to prove myself by doing so.

I threw my hair up into a bun as best as I could with one hair tie and looked into my reflection in the bathroom mirror, my eyes looked rather sunken which is rather expected, I'm beyond exhausted almost all the time at this point, but here you gotta push on or get left behind... and I'm still trying to simply catch up to everyone else,

"Arlette! Hurry up!"

I heard him shout from the kitchen. I sighed and ran out of the bathroom into the kitchen where he was already preparing things. Apparently, Uma normally does the cooking part but seeing as she's not here Harry has to jump into the kitchen and that's why I've been booted to emergency waitress duty. His head swiftly turned to me as I came out of the bathroom and I immediately knew this was gonna be tough,

"Alright ye, get over 'ere"

He bluntly spoke to me before quickly sauntering over to me and casually grabbing my upper arm to drag me over to the door to the kitchen and swung it partially open so I could see the dining room,

"Every table has a number, every order corresponds ta a number, ye take the food ta the proper table and ya write orders for the tables and bring 'em back ta me. If ya mess up a fucking table so help me gods Arlette, we're gonna have a stern talk yeh? This isn't my restaurant, this is Uma's. I may be the Captain now but this is Uma's place, if ya mess it up yer messing it up for my Captain, if ya mess something up for my Captain... I get pretty pissed off yeh?"

I... I won't lie I shivered a little bit. I'm just still not used to be talked to in such a way. I couldn't let him see that I naturally teared up, I'm just so not used to this yet. I took a quick deep breath and looked up at him and made sure to make eye contact with his cold blues,

"Yes Captain"

I simply said which made him simply nod and turn back into the kitchen and let go of my arm. I was just about to head out onto the floor to start this terrifying journey when he came back over to me and roughly handed me a pencil and note pad for tickets,

"Oh and by the way..."

He said as he suddenly looked me in the eyes again,

"... no crying"

He said with a slight growl before whipping away from me and heading into the kitchen for good this time. I nodded a little bit and looked down at the notepad and pencil before taking a big deep breath and headed out onto the floor full of pirates and other slightly scary individuals. Now... no crying until I'm alone tonight in my room, surely I can hold in all the stress tears until then.

I walked out onto the floor and immediately spotted Gil at the bar who almost immediately flagged me down by waving at me, at least he's nice to me. I jogged over to him and quickly had to kill my smile as soon as I felt it try to come onto my face as I got over to him,

"Hey Gil"

I casually said as apparently he's allowed to smile, I'm not when it comes to Harry's standards but whatever. He gave me a silly-looking smile and chuckled,

"Hey Arlette, Harry still giving you a hard time huh?"

I took a long sigh and shrugged for a moment before letting a few things spill out,
