Warnings: Cursing, Yamaguchi being a little insecure⚠️

You had a little extra time today in the morning before you had to walk to school, so you decided to change your hair.

Doing a style you were normally seen in, a part of you was hoping that Yamaguchi, your crush, would notice. The other part just wanted to change things up a little.

That's what you did, a few stares lingered on you longer than usual, it did make you a little scared, but it quickly faded away because of a certain blonde.

"Oh my gosh! I love your hair today!" Yachi exclaimed, catching the attention of a few others in the room.

"Thank you, Yachi." You smiled at her. You took a seat next to her and class began.

Once lunch arrived, you and Yachi went to Yamaguchi and Tsukishima's classroom to eat with them.

It was a regular occurrence that all the first years in volleyball are together, though Kageyama and Hinata went to the gym to get some reps in most of the time.

Right when you walked in the door, Yamaguchi immediately noticed the slight change in hairstyle.

Tsukishima was rather observant as well, but decided to keep his thoughts to himself.

"I like your hair today." Yamaguchi complimented.

You thanked him and began eating your lunch. The small compliment was enough to make your whole week.

Yamaguchi could not stop thinking about your hair, after lunch he turned to Tsuki and talked his ass off about how beautiful you looked.

You decided that you'd change something else for school tomorrow as well, wanting to get his attention and maybe soon confess to him.

"Yachi I need help." You facetimed the blonde who was doing her homework after school and practice.

"What is it? Are you okay?" She worriedly asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." You laughed. "I wanna get Yamaguchi's attention again tomorrow, what should I do this time?"

"Is that why you changed your hairstyle?" She cocked her head to the side, tapping her pencil against her chin.

"No! I did it for myself too." You looked away slightly embarrassed.

She giggled. "Well... how about changing your earrings or something."

"You think he'd notice something that small?" You asked.

She simply shrugged. "You could do something different with your hair again. In case he doesn't see the earrings right away." She suggested.

You decided to take her advice and do your hair differently everyday.

The next day, you did as promised and went to school with a new hair do.

Yachi once again complimented you, Yamaguchi was arriving a bit later than usual so he managed to get a sneak peak of you before lunch.

He was taken back by yet another change in you. He hurried over to Tsukishima so he could tell him about it.

"She just looks so pretty today, Tsuki." He daydreamed.

His friend shrugged, not wanting to give off the impression that he liked you since he knew of his best friends massive liking to you.

He decided to tease his friend a little, he just wanted the two of you together, it was so painfully obvious.

"Usually when girls change something in their appearance, it means they're trying to get someone's attention."

Yamaguchi thought for a moment, growing a little insecure. "Do you think she's doing it for someone else?" He worriedly said.

Tsukishima didn't mean for Yamaguchi to take it that way, he meant as in you were doing it for him, not some other guy.

Before he could reword what he said, the bell rang and class began.

During your class you got paired up with a guy, he was funny, you briefly knew him though.

The two of you stayed after a little hit for lunch to plan things out.

Yachi on the other hand went off without you, walking to the two boys classroom by herself.

"Where's Y/N?" Yamaguchi asked.

"Oh she's with Kyo, they got paired for a project together so they're planning things out." Yachi cleared up.

Or so she thought, Yamaguchi excused himself and said he was going to get a drink.

In reality he was going to check up on you, wanting to see if this was the guy you were trying to impress.

He saw you laughing with this so called, 'Kyo'. He decided to wait for you once he saw that you were getting ready to pack up.

"Oh, hey Tadashi." You smiled.

"Hey, Y/N, um- do you think we could talk?" He asked nervously.

You nodded and followed him somewhere secluded. He couldn't believe he was going to confess, he just couldn't hold it in anymore, even if you didn't reciprocate his feelings, it just needed to be out there.

"Look, Y/N, I'm just gonna be straightforward and say this- I like you, a lot." He quickly said. "I-it's okay if you don't feel the same, I just felt like-"

"Tadashi."

"Y-yeah?" He gulped. Waiting for the dreaded rejection.

"I like you a lot too."

This was not what he was expecting.

"Really? But, Tsuki told me when a girl changes how they look it means they're trying to impress someone." He says.

You nodded. "I was trying to impress you, Tadashi. I'm glad you noticed." You couldn't help but make your smile wider by the second.

The tips of his ears were red and hot. This was his chance.

"Would you wanna go out this weekend? Just the two of us." He clarified.

You agreed and gave him a kiss on the cheek, letting him register that and cool off his blush before he went back into his classroom to eat.
