Warnings: Angst, post break-up, cursing, crying, time-skip spoilers,

Daichi still thinks he'll have you waiting for him at the apartment.

His body is sore and achy, he couldn't wait to get in the shower and head to bed. Imagining that you'd be there to prepare his bath and have dinner ready.

It's been 3 months and he still feels like the break-up was yesterday.

He deserved it, missing one too many dates, leaving you at the restaurant looking like an idiot. Promising he'd do better, but then just fucking up again. Pushing you away and blowing up on you.

All the yelling and nights spent facing away from each other— you were sick of it. You gave him more than enough chances to redeem himself, he was just too busy.

When he opened the front door he was greeted by your— well now his dog.

He bought the dog as surprise, so you let him keep it since it was rightfully his.

He scratched the back of his ears, just like you did. His dog looked behind him, waiting like he always did.

"Come." Daichi called as he picked up his food bowl, unaware of what he was doing. "Hey-" He turned around and noticed that he was still waiting for you, like he would everyday.

You'd come home around this time everyday and greeted him, it was out of habit.

"You miss her too, huh?" Daichi chuckled bitterly. Taro looked back at him and continued to wag his tail; staring at the front door.

Daichi left momentarily to fill up his water and food.

"She's not coming back..." Daichi spoke up as he re-entered the room. Taro left the door and went to the food.

Daichi sat on the ground beside him as he ate.

"She's not coming back because I was a terrible boyfriend." He sighs. "So stop waiting at the door for her." With that he left. Unsure if Taro would even understand the command, but it was worth a shot.

Anything to help ease his mind of you, he didn't need a reminder that he messed up one if not the most important thing to him.

He heated up some leftover dinner from last night, shifting from one foot to the other.

You plagued his mind, he missed you deeply. He wishes he hadn't pushed you away, he wishes he remembered those dates because then maybe you'd still be with him.

Giving him another chance he knew he didn't deserve.

He wondered how you were doing, had you moved one? Were you happy achieving your dreams?

Taro's nails hitting the ground brought him out of his daze, though there was something in his mouth.

"Whatcha got there buddy?" He kneeled down momentarily.

He took it out of his mouth and immediately knew what it was.

It was one of your favorite hoodies. Taro had brought it to him, Daichi blinked for a few seconds. He slowly brought it up to his nose, seeking for your scent.

Surely it was there, but it also smelled like dog so he scrunched his nose.

Daichi thought you had taken everything that was yours. Would you want this back? He'd be able to see you again and hopefully make things right.

He stopped himself from calling you immediately right then and there and headed to his room to get ready for bed.

When the time came for him to fall asleep, his body gave in quickly, but his mind was still wide awake.

He tossed and turned many times, despite being all sore.

You kept him up unknowingly. Taro still waiting for you at the door and bringing him your sweatshirt, it reminded him of what he lost.

Hell, Taro was even sleeping on your side of the bed because he still thought you'd be home to cuddle him.

Daichi tenses up when he feels something wet fall down his face, he isn't stupid, he knows he's crying.

He lets out a muffled sob and Taro immediately perks up, slowly inching closer to him, Daichi puts an arm around him in comfort.

Daichi wonders if you're having this much trouble letting go as he is.

You couldn't fall asleep. Too many things were on your mind.

Finals were finished, but you wondered how well you did and if you even prepared enough.

Staying awake late wasn't a problem since Daichi plagued your mind most of the time.

It was pretty shitty timing to break things off, but it was the best for you, right?

You knew you deserved better, but it was so hard to let go.

Now, your mind was drifting back to him and what he was doing, how Taro was doing.

You weren't crying, but it definitely poked at your heart a bit. Luckily it was the weekend tomorrow—well today technically, so you didn't have anything.

The room suddenly felt colder than it did before, you turned on your tv to watch something and got up to your closet to grab a sweatshirt.

Your brows furrowed as you couldn't find the specific one you were looking for, it has to be somewhere in the apartment.

You grabbed the closest one instead and throw it on, but the scent was off.

It's definitely not yours. It smells like Daichi, in a sense it was comforting, but at the same time it's wrong.

You weren't even sure why you had this, you were sure you grabbed what was rightfully yours and moved out.

It's too late now, you leave it on and watch random YouTube videos to make you sleepy.

Even though you were the one to break things off, you missed him more than you should.

Feelings were still there, but the treatment wasn't ideal.

Now you were sad thinking about the 'what if's' in your relationship, it really didn't help when crime videos came on.

It just reminded you too much of him and what he wanted to be.

Eventually you fell asleep, but the pout was prominent on your face.

You also hugged the sweatshirt you had on for dear life, did you make the right choice?
