Summary: Din returns to Tatooine with a certain little Jedi.
It had been months since Clio had seen Din. She knew that bounty hunting was how he made his money and that he couldn't stay on Tatooine forever, but deep down she had hoped he'd give up that life and stay with her. He seemed so happy with her, but how else would he make money on this desolate planet?
"He'll be back, adi'ka. You'll see," Boba reassured her.
More months passed and Clio had given up on ever seeing Din again. She walked into the throne room after baking some cookies. Baking always made her feel better. The plate shattered to the floor when she saw the man in the shiny beskar standing before her.
"Din..." she breathed. She ran to him and threw her arms around his neck. "Oh my god! I thought I'd never see you again!"
"I'll always come back to you, mesh'la."
Clio leaned up and kissed him, not caring that Boba and Fennec were watching. "I'm so glad you're back."
Din pulled back from her. "There was a reason to come back." He pushed aside his cape, revealing a small bag.
A small green creature sat in it.
"This is Grogu. My son." Din lifted him out and gently placed him in Clio's arms.
"Hello there, little one," Clio cooed, running a finger down Grogu's small nose.
Grogu giggled. He put a clawed hand on her face and she felt her stomach rumble.
"Oh, are you hungry?" she asked him. She walked over to the broken plate and picked up one of the cookies, handing it to him.
Grogu happily munched on the cookie and she felt a wave of appreciate wash over her.
Clio laughed. "You're very welcome."
"You understand him?" Din asked her.
"Uh yeah. In a way. It's mostly feelings right now."
"You didn't tell me you were Force sensitive, adi'ka," Boba said.
"I...I didn't know. I've never met a Jedi before."
Grogu yawned and cuddled up to Clio.
Din smiled softly seeing Clio gently hold Grogu.
"I guess we should get this little one into bed."
"Adi'ka," Boba said.
"Yes?" Clio asked.
Both Mandalorians chuckled.
"Adi'ka. It's our word for child. Or little one."
"Oh! Hey wait..."
"Adi'ka, everyone is a child in my eyes."
Din walked over to her and put a hand on her lower back. "Come on, cyar'ika." With one last look at Boba, Din led his small family to their sleeping quarters.
Grogu was settled in a little makeshift bed on the other side of the room from Clio and Din.
"I'll go pick something up from the market tomorrow," Clio told him, "We should also maybe get him some more clothes or maybe a toy or two."
Din rummaged through his bag and pulled out a bag of credits, handing them to Clio.
"Oh, Din. I couldn't take your bounty hunting credits. Boba pays me enough to pay for things."
"They're not just my credits, they're our credits."
Clio looked at him confused. "I...I don't understand."
Din knelt down in front of her, taking her hands in his. "Leaving you was the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but I knew it was for the best. I've worked my tail off these past few months to build up enough credits. I...I want a life with you and seeing you with Grogu just cemented those thoughts. I've already discussed it with Boba. I'm staying here with you. Me and Grogu. We can be a family. A proper family."
"You...you'd give up bounty hunting?"
Din kissed the back of her hands. "I'd do anything for you, mesh'la."
Clio grabbed Din by his shirt and pulled him into her, slamming her lips on his.
Din returned the passionate kiss and crawled on top of her.
Clio started tugging at his shirt.
"Wait. Wait. Are you sure?" he asked her.
"Yes. Yes, I wanna be a family with you. I want Grogu and little ones with your brown eyes."
Din kissed her softly. "Can you be quiet?"
Clio quirked an eyebrow at him. "Can you?"
