Summary: Oberyn, Ellaria, and his youngest Alia are visiting the Water Gardens.

Alia listened to her sisters giggling in the pool in the courtyard. She was visiting the Water Gardens with her father and Ellaria. Her usual home was Sunspear with her Uncle Doran and cousins. Alia saw her sisters occasionally, but it was usually just her and her small family.

"Ali! Come play with us!"

"Come play with us, Tiny Viper!"

Dorea and Loreza loved their little sister and always tried to include her in their games.

Alia looked at their swimming clothes, dripping with water.

"Girls, if Alia does not want to play, she doesn't have to. Now run along," Ellaria told them.

The two of them ran off and Ellaria walked over to the youngest of her lover's daughters.

"What is wrong, my love? Why do you stay locked up here in your room? Why not come down and spend time with your sisters?"

"The water scares me," Alia admitted shamefully.

This surprised Ellaria. Dorne was surrounded by water and Alia seemed to like the beach, but she never ventured far from her father's side.

"At least come down with me," Ellaria told her.

Alia followed Ellaria down to the courtyard.

Obara and Tyene were sparring off one on side with Elia watching them. Nymeria was in the pool playing with Dorea and Loreza. Oberyn was sitting on the edge of the pool with Obella sitting next to him.

Alia sat down in the shade. With her pale skin, she burned more easily than her sisters. Most of her sisters had their father's golden skin, but they all shared his eyes.

Ellaria sat down next to Alia so the little girl wouldn't feel so alone.

Oberyn looked over at his youngest. "Come here, little one," he told her.

Alia got up and walked over to her father. He helped her out of her sandals and Alia put her tiny feet in the water.

Everything was fine until Dorea swam up and grabbed Alia's ankle. Alia screamed out in fear and fell into the pool.

"Alia!" Oberyn yelled, reaching for his youngest.

Nymeria quickly grabbed her youngest sister and pulled her out of the water. She handed Alia to their father.

Alia clung to Oberyn's neck, crying.

"Dorea!" Oberyn scolded her.

"I'm sorry, Papa. I...I was just playing."

Oberyn could feel Alia trembling in his arms.

"You scared your sister!" Ellaria told her, "Apologize, now."

"I'm sorry, Alia. I didn't mean it," Dorea said.

Alia didn't respond.

"Alright, girls. Time to go back to your studies," Ellaria told them.

The younger girls whined, while the older ones just urged them along.

Once Alia was calm enough, she glanced at the water below them.

"Do you want to learn to swim?" Oberyn asked her.

"I'm scared, Papa."

Oberyn shed his shirt and lowered himself down into the water. His large hands lowered Alia into the water with him. She clung to him and he walked around in the water with her clinging to his neck.

Once Alia was comfortable in the water, he placed her on her back with one of his hands on her back. "Relax your body, princess. Just float. I won't let go. I promise."

Alia did as he said. After about a minute or so, Oberyn slid his hand off her back and let her float there by herself.

Alia realized he wasn't holding onto her and panicked. Oberyn grabbed her and held her to his chest.

"It's alright. You were doing so well, princess!"

Oberyn put Alia on her stomach and held her up. "Have you seen a frog swim, princess?" Oberyn asked.

Alia nodded. There was a pond in the courtyard at Sunspear and she loved watching them swim in the water.

"Move your arms and legs like that."

Alia started kicking her legs and moving her arms.

Oberyn guided her through the water. He placed her on the steps leading down into the water and stepped back a few feet. "Swim to me, princess."

"Papa, I can't! I'll drown!"

"You can do it, Alia. Come on."

Alia lowered herself into the water and tried swimming to her father. She got about a foot before she started to panic.

Oberyn quickly grabbed her. Seeing the look on Alia's face, he said, "Don't worry, princess. We'll keep trying." He kissed her head. "You'll be a little water snake in no time."
