Chapter 12: Trouble Healing

*Daniel's POV*-

Earlier that day.....

I just got home but by the looks of it everyone was busy attending the guests in the party room.So I started to make my way up to my room when I got hit with the most enchanting smell.The smell of roses and fresh strawberries filled the hallway. My wolf again started going crazy. Looks like the same woman who has been consuming my mind is here.
I met my kids after sooo long, god I missed them so much.I met everyone and even told my father about what I got to know from The Oracle's.
After helping Rachel, (though I admit that she didn't need my help but I couldn't just stand there silently) ,she just left me while I was standing there like some idiot.When she had her back towards me I didn't mind it,but I wanted to see her beautiful big emerald green eyes.Those eyes that haunt my dreams every night.
But just like that,she left my presence taking away with her the intoxicating smell that I was craving.
Ellie and Carol decided that the family should go out on some small outing of sorts for some time together, which everyone agreed on.Rachels brother even though on lot on insisting didn't join us.

The next day after the party we decided to go a mall, which I tell you every male in the family was against but the odds were against us.
We got to the mall and we just followed the females into the shops. Just walking around and looking at dresses and other stuff was not my cup of tea,but my attention was diverted somewhere else,I had my eyes only on Rachel.Something about her made me curious like I wanted to get to know her.The way she treated my family and enjoyed their company made me forget about the war and just for a few moments I was ....enjoying.

But the dreaded feeling of being watched kept bothering me.I checked our surroundings but no one looked suspicious.There were other families and couples shopping but nothing out of the blue.I guess I was just being paranoid.

Soon everyone got tired of the shopping and then we headed to the Food court. Rachel volunteered to bring the food to the table.Sophie was in my arms the whole time.
But then I saw Rachel smiling and talking to some guy at the counter and for some reason I didn't like it.

"I'll go and see if Rachel needs some help" I said to father at which he nodded. I gave Sophie to him and started walking towards Rachel and the guy she was talking to.They did not seem to notice me so I stood right next to her as I ordered a drink.
Our arms touched and for some reason I felt electricity run all over my body. Just by a slightest touch she has so much effect on me.
She must have felt it too because she turned to face me.Our eyes met for the shortest of time,she took my breath away in that one look, but then she breaks eye contact and moves further away from me.
"It was nice talking to you Rachel.I hope we meet again." The man said while smiling at her. Why is she talking to strangers?Not that I mind.

"I hope so too" she replied. Are they both hitting on each other or something?
With that he left, she turned towards me and rolled her eyes.If she was mine,I would have punished her in ways she could never imagine for giving me that attitude.

"Can I help you?" She asked me.

"Just came here to help you.Any problem?"

"Nope but I won't be needing the help. I'll be going with the food to the table now." She said.As she was about to leave I grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

"Now Rachel,it seems that you are trying to avoid me." I whispered in her ear.I felt her whole body shiver.Looks like I have the same effect on her.

"Just because I have nothing to say to you doesn't mean I am avoiding you." Her voice low yet soft which made me wonder how she would sound in the bedroom next to me.

"Hmmm..Why don't I believe that?"

Just then I felt her turn really fast towards me.Her eye filled with fire, and something else..lust.
But before she could answer me,something caught her eye.

"Get dowwnnn!!!!Behind the counter nowwwww!!" She yelled. We immediately hopped behind the counter and just then gunshots were heard.

She quickly pulled out her gun,I followed her lead and grabbed my hand gun from my pocket.We both started shooting the attackers,they were coming from everywhere. People were screaming,running, some of them lying dead on the floor,it was an utter chaos. Rachel's face showed no emotion as she perfectly aimed her shots.

"The Kids!!!DANIEL,where are they??" She panicked.
I looked around and saw my kids hiding behind a fallen table with my father holding Sophie in his arms...but his shirt was drenched in crimson red liquid.....BLOOD....he was bleeding.

"SHHIT" I screamed.
"What?" Rachel asked me frantically.
"My father got shot...SHIT!" I was furious but to my surprise I wasn't the only one.Rachel turned towards me in pain but there was something more......RAGE.

"Go help your father.I'll cover you." She said.I trusted her.Without much thought I made my way towards my father and just like she said she stood infront of me and started shooting the guys trying to shoot.

Fuck!! We cannot reveal our secret Infront of humans otherwise I would have shifted long back and tore apart their limbs.I made it to my dad and kneeled beside him.

"Father let go of Sophie."
Sophie was in tears and was shaking due to fear. I see my siblings behind other flipped tables.

"I'll take care of Sophie." Andrew said.
Andrew took her and ran towards the exit. Lucas made sure that no one could stop him.

"Dad why are you not healing???? You should have healed by now." I panicked as I saw blood continuously gushing out of his chest.
"I don't...know...ahhhhhhh..son" he tried to speak.

I added pressure and made sure that he didn't loose more blood.

I mind linked Lucas.
Daniel: **[ Lucas take Susan and leave the mall. Look for Andrew and Sophie once you get out. ]**

Lucas: **[Okay. I have called the pack doctor,he will be waiting for us at the house.]**

*Rachel's POV*
I saw Carol and Ellie trying to make a run for the exit,but they were waiting for an opening. But then I see a guy setting a bomb near their hiding place.

"Ellie, Carol!!? Leave now!! They have a bomb." I screamed

They heard me and nodded before running towards the exit.I felt like everything was happening in slow motion when I saw a guy loading his gun and trying to aim his shot at Ellie.My bullets were all used,I couldn't shoot him if I wanted to.

So,I ran as fast I could and pushed her out of his range but the bullet hit me at my right shoulder. FUCkkk!!?!! It hurts a lot!!!! I screamed when the bullet made contact with my shoulder upon hearing me Daniel shot the man dead.

"Nooooo...Rachelll!!! I am so sorry!!!" Ellie cried. She saw blood all over my shoulder and couldn't control herself.

"I am fine Ellie...aaaah..hiss..Carol take her and leave.Nowww!!" I tried to divert my attention from the wound.
Hesitantly Ellie and Carol left the mall. Then I ran towards Daniel and Liam's hiding place.

"What the Hell Rachel!! Your clothes are covered in blood." Daniel panicked when he saw me.

"I will be fine. How do we get Liam out of here?"

"Are you crazy? You JUST got shot!" He yelled at me.

"You cannot drag him alone.They are setting a bomb here. The men will leave when the bomb is ready, we should pick him and run towards the exit.They won't be firing at us then." I said, he nodded and at the count of three we picked Liam up and dragged him out.Fortunately we made it out of the mall before the bomb exploded.

There were 2 cars ready for us. Daniel with the help of Lucas took him towards the car.

I was relieved that everyone was alive, till now.
As the adrenaline started fading away,the pain of the wound in my shoulder started surfacing.
Daniel came back towards me and when he saw me clutching my shoulder, without wasting any time he picked me up and started walking towards the car.
I was too tired to think anything about it. I am loosing a lot of blood. I could hear Ellie crying and apologising and Daniel trying to keep me awake.I started to feel very sleepy, and I wanted to embrace this darkness. Even though I knew that Steph was waiting for me but I couldn't help but reach out to this darkness which was calling me.
I hope I can see Steph again...
