Chapter-32: Remember Me

*Rachel's POV*-

Seeing susan run towards the edge of the forest piqued our curiosity.We were a few distance away from her when I saw four figures in the forest walking towards the clearing,one of them was close to susan.Due to the dim light of the moon,shadow was casted on their faces making it difficult for me to make them out.

But soon the three figures made their way into the clearing and I recognized one of them to be my dad,he was walking and smiling towards me and steph.I was a little surprised by his sudden arrival but at the same time was happy on seeing him after so long.The other two people came into my view and they seemed to be a Couple but I couldn't recognize them.

My field of vision then travelled towards susan and the unknown man who was standing near her.But seeing them kiss,cleared the doubts in my mind making me overjoyed for her on finding her mate.As soon as he took a step back from her that's when I saw his face and reality set in.

I couldn't control the gasp which escaped me and on hearing another gasp,it was clear that steph saw him too.It was like time stopped and silence surrounded us.

But how can it be?This is surely a dream...a very detailed and shocking dream.But this thought left my mind when I saw a tear roll down his face while he said. "Rae..." the nickname which he had just for me.I couldn't stop the tremble in my body on seeing the scene infront of me.

Alex

My brother..... is Alive.

Stephan ran towards him,not having a care in the world as he wrapped his arms around him.Both holding each other tightly and at the same time crying on meeting after years.I took a deep breath before taking a few steps towards them,I couldn't believe my eyes.I could see both my brothers laughing and crying at the same time.

"H..Ho...How...you..you're..alive..YOU'RE ALIVE!"Steph tried to speak between his sobs.My feet stayed rooted to the ground,I couldn't move.Steph broke from the hug and turned back to look for me and when he noticed me not moving,he came rushing towards me and grabbing my hand he takes me in our brother's direction.

Alex on meeting my gaze cried softly before calling out again to me.Hearing his voice again completely broke me down.Trembling and shaking I reached my hand out,needing to touch his face to reassure that it's really him...as my finger tips touched his cheek I felt a tear roll down my face.

"Alex?"I asked, my voice unrecognisable and hoarse from all the bottled up emotions.Alex nodded his head while holding my hand to his face.

The once quiet and reserved kid with thin limbs who blended in the crowd was now standing a infront of me with a towering height,his face lacking any hint of acne and his movements were unrestrained.The boyish teen that I once knew had turned into a grown man.

Staring at his face all of the memories started resurfacing of us together.The memory of us being kids,all our fights and arguments,all of our mischief,all of us being happy...to the memory of Alex lying dead beside me.

The last memory caused a stream of tears to fall,which even after trying I couldn't stop."I-I am ...so..sorryy.I should have...listened to you and stayed home. I should have never trusted him.I-I am sorry...it's all because of me." crying my heart out I fall onto his chest,my knees giving up under me.For the first time in a long time I let my guard down as I clutch his t-shirt,feeling all my guilt resurface.

"Shhh..shhh...No...Don't say that Rae.It was never your fault.Please don't blame yourself.I am here now, that's all that matters." He held me tight before burying his head in my hair.Both of us overwhelmed with emotions.I couldn't express my gratitude and joy to the gods for bringing my brother back.
