VENUS

"You telling me you got plans for Friday, V?" Marquise asked, lifting my chin up with his finger. "Hm?"

"Are you asking me on a date? Because if you are, you need to just spit it out." I slapped his cheeks softly, smiling.

"I wanna take you out for dinner and a movie on Friday, I'm sure you don't have plans but if you do then..now you don't."

"I'll think about it, I have to make sure no one else catches my attention then I'll get back to you." I nodded and he smirked, pecking my lips. Once he turned around, I quickly wiped my lips and Salome walked down the hall.

I turned to look inside my locker, trying not to look her way since I knew her mother didn't want us to be friends.

"Hey!" She tapped my shoulder and I looked over at her, unable to hide my smile. I thought she would ignore me because of her mom—but I was glad to figure out that she wasn't.

"Hey!" I hugged her tightly, rocking us back and forth. "I thought you weren't going to talk to me because of your mom,"

"I'd rather not speak about that, she took my phone though, so that's why I didn't call you." She leaned against the lockers as I grabbed a notebook out of my locker, shutting it after.

"Well..here." I reached in my back pocket and pulled out my old iPhone 6s, handing over to her. "Use that."

"I can't take your stuff,"

"If I'm offering it then sure you can, I don't mind." I shrugged. "I have a phone, I really don't need that one. Keep it as long as you need to."

"But-"

"No buts, just take the phone. You're pissing me off, and you know how I get when I'm pissed off." I spoke sternly. She smiled, taking the phone from me and sliding it into her pocket.

"Thank you,"

"It's nothing," I tossed my free arm around her shoulder as we both started to walk down the crowded hallway. "Butttttt!"

"But what?"

"What are you doing this weeken—damn, never mind." I huffed, remembering that she couldn't really do anything since she was still in trouble.

"No, say it."

"Well, before I ask...how lenient do you think your mom will be this weekend?"

"My dad should be coming back Thursday, so hopefully very very lenient." She laughed lowly to herself. "Why?"

"Because..if you aren't family bonding and all that stuff, I wanted to know if you had any plans on Saturday."

"Not that I know of, why? And please just let it out, you know I hate it when you keep things to yourself, V, because you always make that dumb ass face that you're making now," She glared at me, making the goofy expression I had now disappear.

"Because I'm going on a date with Marquise this weekend.." I started, noticing her sudden mood change. It wasn't extremely obvious, but I knew her well enough to see when it changed. Even if it was only a slight change.

"Mhm."

"And I wanted to know if you were down to double. I really do like him, but I'm a little nervous. I've been on dates, but not really with someone who I've been equally interested in, so I think it'll be fun if you tagged along and maybe I could get him to invite Eli, and then—well, you know,"

"Actually, I think my dad is gonna be doing things with me and my mom all weekend since we haven't seen him." She cleared her throat, removing my arm from around her shoulder. "I hope you have fun on the date though, let me know how it goes!"
