"Kiya got her heart broke and played her best volleyball game yet!" Jocelyn teased, recording me.

"Leave her alone, Joc." Nay moved the phone out of my face, realizing my irritation.

"What?" She took offense. "I'm being serious, no shade whatsoever. This was her best game all season. That's our libero!"

"Just leave her alone. She's not in the mood."

"Girl, okay." Jocelyn slouched back down in seat.

"Nay?"

"Hmm?" She looked over at me. "You straight?"

"What if I talked to Lucky?"

"Don't. I got a class with him and Saida and I think he got a thing for her."

"Why you say that?" I ask nosily, it wasn't my business and I didn't care that much, but who cares.

"He just always initiating conversations with her, or like going over to talk to him and they don't sit next to each other they sit on opposite sides of the class so I think he likes her."

"Oh.." I decide not to ask anymore questions. The situation was still fresh, so it still hurt to talk about.

"I don't know why you took him serious anyway," Jocelyn leaned up again. "We told you he wasn't gonna leave Saida alone."

"Jocelyn, on everything I love if you don't shut up talking to me I'm going to slap shit down your leg." I turned around, quickly facing her.

"Please do." Nay mumbled.

"Donaysha, you can't fight." Jocelyn says. "But, aye, Kiya, you got a lot of anger pent up right now I'll leave that ass alone."

That was true, I loved Nay to death but she couldn't fight too well. It's not that she was terrible, but she wasn't that good of a fighter to be getting herself in the situations that she puts herself in.

Jocelyn sat back in her seat once again and I resumed my song that was once playing. The game we had just left was over an hour away, so I was ready to just get it all over with and be back at home.

"Thanks, Perez," I thank Nay's brother before getting out of the car, closing the door.
