I'm but
A simple
Wallflower
Growing against the shadows
Unseen
By my peers
They invite me to parties
But even when I show up
They don't care
Don't even notice my presence
I know
They invited me out of politeness
They don't actually care
If I show up or not
And I always do
But I don't know why
I'm a wallflower
Not a party-goer
"Why am I here?"
Is what I always ask myself
No one wants me here
I don't even want to be here
I stick to the walls
Just like a creeping vine
I only stay in the shadows
Out of the way
I pet the dog of the house
Maybe even read a book
That I brought along
I always leave before
Two hours pass
Wallflowers don't go to parties
They stay holed up at home
