Anagapesis, noun
"No longer feeling any affection for someone you once loved"
It's time for me to let go
It only hurts me more
The longer I hold on
I must let go
Of this town
Of these people
I loved this town
I loved these people
But no longer do I feel
That way
They've hurt me
They've let me go
And I'm still here
It's time for me to let go
I know once I'm long gone
They'll make no effort
To bridge the gap
They'll haunt me
For years
I'll have to remind myself
That I tried
I truly tried
But they didn't
And what is the point
If only one person is giving their all
And the other doesn't even care?
It's time for me to let go
As much as it'll hurt
Years from now
I'll thank myself
For letting go when I did
It's okay
To let go
I know it'll hurt
But years from now
I'll heal
I'll heal from the wounds
This town and these people
Have given me
But for now
All I have to do is
Let
Go
