Atlas's POV

"How do we contact the said Colonel if we don't have any contacts about them?" Colt exclaimed. Nasa Idaho na kami at isang liko at ilang metrong layo pa ay nasa main base na kami ng army.

"Can you give me ten minutes?" Si Marshall. I nodded and gave his time.

I stopped the car. Nasa may gilid lang kami ng daanan. Bumaba ako ng walang pag-alinlangan para makalanghap ng sariwang hangin.

The cold breeze here in Idaho made me calm down. Gave such a chill vibe and peace of mind. Birds are chirping from tall trees. The forest is almost quiet, yet comforting.

And I just thought..and realize that whenever Harper went back here, she can't wait. Her eyes will twinkle because of excitement, and her smile became more wider.

She loves here.

Her happiness is in here.

I bit my lips and let out a sighed.

Being a soldier is what she lives for.

"Commander? Colonel Walker is in the line." Ani Marshall at binigay sakin ang kanyang phone. Nagtataka akong lumingon sa kanya pero agad ding kinuha ito.

"Colonel Walker?" I asked.

"Yes..speaking."

"This is Commander Atlas Foster of the Air Force."

"How did you contact me? And why–" Agad siyang napahinto.

"Forget it. Did you guys contact the team in Denvers?" He whispered. Wait, he knew? How–

"Yes, Sir." I immediately answered.

Hindi siya umimik ng ilang segundo.

"Come to my office here at our main base. Sabihin ninyo utos ko." Aniya at pinatay agad ang tawag. Agad akong tumungong driver seat para sundin ang kanyang sinabi.

Papasok palang kami sa army base ay ilang mga sundalo na ang nandoon. They gave us a stop sign para suriin kami.

"May I ask who are you and why are you here Sir?" A soldier asked me nang lumapit ito at nang binaba ko ang binata.

I give him my ID.

"Commander Atlas Foster, from the Air Force."

Nalilito siyang napatingin saking ID at sa akin. Pati kila Marshall at Colt na kasama ko sa loob nang sasakyan.

"Colonel Walker wants us inside." I answered him.

He gave me my ID and told me to wait him for a second. Kita kong hawak nito ang walkie talkie at tila may kinausap.

"You think they'll let us through?" Si Colt na nasa backseat.

"They should be." Kako.

Tumango tango ang sundalo kanina tsaka lumapit muli samin.

"Sir, can you step out for a moment? We need to scan your car." Aniya.

I bit my lips and do what he said.

"May I remind you that he's one of the highest Commander in Air Force." Si Colt nang bumaba ito.

I signal him to shut up and keep his nerve calm. Tahimik lang naman si Marshall.

"They gave us orders, Sir. And it's in our protocol." Ani ng sundalo.

They scan our car. Kinuha ang mga ilang gamit na siguro'y hindi nararapat sa loob ng base. Kinapkapan din kami hanggang sa sinabihang pwede nang pumasok. Tinuro rin samin kung nasaan ang office ng Colonel.
