100 Reasons to Leave, Give me One to Stay

NO MIST

Let's face it: Nico Di Angelo had always been a screw-up

It had always been that way ever since he was born -- only he didn't know it then and sometimes he wishes he didn't know it now -- after all his birth had led to the murder of his mother and Hades grieving over his lost love and not wanting to lose his children because of his brothers jealously and wrath Hades  sent them to a hotel which froze time and Nico spent over seventy years in there along with his sister

Then he finally got out of the hotel into a whole new world that he didn't quite understand and he only had his sister to guide him through the woes and highs of life. It was him and her against the world, Westover School was like hell to Nico (at the time he didn't know how ironic that would be)

It was Bianca and Nico against the world...Until it wasn't

When Percy and Annabeth fished them out out of the Boarding School, he had left behind the one person he thought would always be there for him and although he hated to admit there was a part of him that knew he would never see her again but he didn't want to believe it. For as long as he could remember it had just been then

He made Percy promise that Bianca would be safe, but even back then he knew it was a promise that Percy couldn't keep. The demigod world was one of the broken promises, all it took was one wrong move and the world would flip upside down. In a demigod's world, one wrong move would get you killed

But still, it was supposed to be Bianca and him against the world

Distraught and not in control he went on the run bouncing around from homeless shelter to homeless shelter never being in one place too long always on the run from monsters or demigods that might have recognised him

It was some of the darkest times of his life (at that point)

But he was able to pull himself out of the darkness and help in the war efforts against Kronos and for a while, he felt like he had finally felt like he belonged somewhere, but like always it all went downhill from there and he wanted to fill the whole

And every time something went right another ten things went wrong

He tried to get Bianca back but failed but he got Hazel, he didn't feel like he fit in anywhere but ended up finding Camp Jupiter and Reyna who he loved like a sister, and after all that pain all that torture he had come out of the other side just to be plunged into his darkest hell yet: Tartarus

Where he had to face his worst fears

Even that wasn't enough apparently because even when Nico felt like he couldn't go through anymore and had been pushed to the breaking point Eros (that narcissistic love God) just had to make everything worse by outing him as gay to Jason, even though he wasn't really ready to admit to himself just who he was

His time in Tartarus had worn down Nico so much that he was more reclusive than ever sticking to himself and the shadows whenever someone got too close to him. That was until a son of Apollo crashed into his life like a flaming ball of positivity in his life and no matter how many times Nico attempted to push him away he would just come back like a boomerang, eventually, he managed to coax Nico to let him in
