Power AU part 7 this time it's Leo's turn and like the other one I saw this as a head cannon on Instagram that I fleshed out and if you haven't read the first one or the head cannons then they can be quite dark (this one in particular) so I'm putting up a trigger warning for those who need it to read with caution as it actually mentions a  suicide scene and trigger warning for depression and suicide idealisation but I hope you enjoy it regardless

Two more power AU's to go, I haven't done breaking your heart yet!

Leo Power AU

NO MIST

Third-degree burns cover the fire user's body like a second skin, although his skin was flaky and peeling off, he wasn't in pain but that didn't mean it looked pretty as he looked in the mirror, every inch of his body was covered in burns and his hands where he produced the hottest fire was now pitch black and he had to design special gauntlets to keep his bones from burning up every bone in his body

It wasn't pretty. But he could survive for now

The question now was, did he want to survive? He had lost so many people in his life from his mom to Nico and he was still so young. When would it stop and when would the poor Latino boy get a break? Hadn't he done enough already, proved to himself and others that had what it took to survive because the life of a demigod was hard enough just living one day to the next and Leo, of course, had it harder than most demigods

Because the Fates just like to screw with his life

His hands and arms feel like they are going to break off and although he couldn't feel the pain from the burns but he could feel the bones within his body start to break, especially where the bones  at least the gauntlets give him some extra support but Leo could feel like they were going to break and although he asked Will, who was still broken and had shut down after he found his boyfriend hanging and swinging gently from left to right

Keeling over in pain Leo sucked in a breath to keep himself from screaming out in pain as three bones in his arms break and instead of going to the Medical Bay, he just sits on the ground outside of Cabin 9 and pops his bones back into place before chowing down on some Nector and Ambrosia

He didn't need to go to the Medical Bay now after watching the Apollo kids he knew how to just pop the bones back in and besides this happens all the time so he learned pretty quickly how to put himself back together

"Hey, Leo are you okay?" Jake asked him sitting down next to him, the gravel was cutting into both of their skin as the small patch of grass they had perched themselves wasn't big enough for the both of them so them so Leo had pushed into the gravel, not that he spoke up about it. He didn't care

He didn't care about much anymore

Leo nodded but didn't say anything as he was scared that his voice would betray his actions -- he wasn't okay, he was far from being okay, he hadn't been okay since the fire that he started that killed his mom and perhaps even before then. Maybe that was just the final straw, he didn't care to keep track because what was there to keep track of? The number of people he has to have known die, yeah that was a list he would want to burn if he could but he couldn't as it was burned into his memory

Yeah okay, maybe he could have fooled others with his thinly veiled jokes about his trauma and maybe he had learned how to fake a smile and put on a show for those around him. Nowadays he just didn't have the energy to do so

"Okay man if you need me you know where I am" Jake gently tells him as he brushes himself off and stands up and just for a moment, Leo thinks about telling his half-brother to stay but with a shake of his head and as his ashy black curls frame his face the thought is dismissed

It was times like this that he missed Calypso the most

Of course he couldn't blame her for wanting to travel the world on her own and find about all that she had missed, that was only natural after being cooped up on an island for thousands upon thousands of years like some kind of caged animal, but the last time he had heard from her was a few months ago and the only thing on the back of the postcard she sent was a smiley face with a pitful Wish you were here!

With another painful crack, a bone in his body disconnects from its socket and this time Leo does let out a pained scream, in fact, he screams until his voice runs sore and dry and he can no longer scream but the demigods don't stop and see what was wrong because by now they were used to their former heroes (the one's that they would treat like Gods) had now fallen from the heavens and crumbled into nothing more than a pile of ash

For Leo it was more literal than the others

Sighing he picked himself up and waitied for his chest to stop heaving and for the tears that had leaked from his eyes without his permission to stop falling. Once they did he walked in a circle around Cabin 9 each step as painful as the last but he didn't care, he was over it, he had no friends and nobody left to turn to as most people stayed away from that fractured group of saviours, not wanting to deal with their problems as they didn't know what to do to them

It had been that way ever since Death had claimed Pipers soul

Death was cruel for Leo, but living was harder for the fire user and yet every attempt he made on his life so that he could be with his friends was just as unsuccesful as the last one. Of course, at this point he knew that his life was just as cruel joke for the fates but he didn't think they woild be this cruel

And yet as he laid on the solid ground, wishing for death it didn't happen

Doomed to live another day in hell.
