Deaf ! Will Solace headcannon combined with Solangelo love confession, it was really fun writing this and Nico and Will deserved a lot more than what they got so I hope you enjoy. Italics is what is signed

I love you headcanon

NO MIST

Will Solace was working on one of his patients, it wasn't a very big injury just a few bruises and scrapes and a concussion from an Ares kid who tried to antagonise one of the older campers, obviously the camper didn't take it very well and decided to teach the new kid a lesson, still, Will took out his bright blue hearing aids so he couldn't be disturbed

The new camper yammered on obviously not aware that the doctor tending to him couldn't hear him and was only picking up a few words as his lips were moving too fast for the son of Apollo to read his lips properly the only words that he could pick out were 'Unfair' and 'I'm too--for them'

"You're all done," Will says slowly, his words coming out slowly and some words disjointed as if a radio kept coming in and out of focus and all that was heard was a garbled mess of white noise, but the Ares kid didn't seem to notice or if he did he kept his mouth clamped shut and just grunted out his mentions of thanks but Will took no notice as he has already turned his back, in order to sort out his files

Time stretch on and Will Solace didn't hear the ruckus around him as his siblings come in and out the infirmary moving around. The blonde-haired demigod was in his own little world and he didn't notice someone needing his attention until the lights in the infirmary started flashing catching his attention

Nico Di Angelo stood leaning against the door, his arm lazily stretched out to click the contraption that turned the light on. His dark eyes dancing with amusement as he watches his boyfriends pivot on his feet looking for anyone who could need his help before they land on Nico and he rolls his eyes, a small smile on his face as he stacks his hands together and balls them into a fist brushing his hands together three times to make the sign for tease "Your such a tease"

"I know" Nico signed back smirking. He had taken sign language classes from Kayla and Lou Ellen, wanting to properly communicate with his boyfriend and although he wasn't as well versed as Will at sign language ( who had begged everyone from the Apollo cabin to learn sign language so that he didn't feel so isolated )

"So how is teaching the campers?" Will asked, only it was too further annoy the dark-haired son of Hades because Nico often hated teaching the campers, which many of the others found weird as he loved kids and almost always knew what to say to comfort the kids, which once again surprised many campers

"It was good surprisingly, the campers actually listened to me today when I told them the rules and actually made improvements---" Nico started to tell him, unaware that his boyfriend had taken out his hearing aids until Will reached up with a smirk on his face and a blue hearing aid in his hands which made Nico roll his eyes but a small smile stays on his face all the same "Will! William when were you going to tell me you couldn't hear me? You were just going to let me rant and then--You know what you are the most infuriating person I have ever meant, sunny, and you always care about me even though and I don't know why I love you"

Of course, Will didn't hear a word of what Nico said since he had swapped back to physically speaking his words and he had turned his back to Nico going back to sorting through patient files so he missed the confession of love but he didn't miss the way the lamp clattered to the floor and Nico's flushed face

"What's got you all flustered?"  Will asked Nico with an easy smile and Nico hated how it made him feel, how his heart flipped inside of his chest every time he even thought of Will or the way his stomach tied itself in knots every time Will even smiled in his direction. His mind couldn't comprehend why would someone love him so much. Since his sister died he's been in a swirl of depression and crippling anxiety on top of the life of a demigod and living in a hotel that freezed time for over seventy years, he didn't have an easy or pretty life and at times he hasn't wanted to continue but then Will came into his life, like a fiery ball of positivity who spread joy and positivity into his life and although he does have his dark days that can weeks maybe up to a month but through it, all Will freaking Solace had been at his side reminding him to eat, shower and just take care of himself. 

So yeah, Nico Di Angelo loved Will Solace 

"I-I" Nico stuttered, still flushing

"What is it? You're worrying me " Will signed, concern etching on his face

"I-I eer why is this so hard!" Nico screamed in frustration throwing his hands up. He knew how he felt about Will, so why couldn't the words come out of mouth? Anger swelled in his chest at his incapability of saying just three little words. It wasn't that hard so why did he feel like the world was going to end?

Finally out of anger and frustration Nico snapped and ended up signing those three little words, freezing Will in place wide-eyed as he attempted to compute what the Italian boy had said, but once he did a slow easy smile etched onto his face eventually stretching out into a grin and he drops his doctors notes them laying forgotten alongside the lamp as he surged forward and Nico only had a few seconds to brace himself before Will encased the smaller boy in his arms, a gleeful laugh vibrating through his chest

"I love you too" Will stated, not wanting to use the impersonal way of sign language

Nico sighed a breath of relief his shoulders slumping as he leaned against Will's frame before lifting head just a little so he could capture the blonde-haired boy's lips with his own. Even though he knew that he loved Will, doubt still clouded his mind like a heavy rain cloud, but it was good to know that at least someone in his miserable life wanted him there, needed him to stick around

And for the first time in a long time Nico felt better than he had in a long time
