Omega let the sand run through her hand, watching it closely as it slipped through her fingers. It was similar to dirt. She liked it.

"Omega, keep up," Tech called back.

He had been tasked with keeping watch over the youngest member while the others went into town. Their intel was at Mos Eisley, in a shady cantina which Hunter wouldn't let Omega set foot near, hence why Tech was taking her back to the ship.

"Coming!" she said, running to catch up with him.

They had reached the town's border. Tech had become aware that they had caught some people's attention coming in and now seemed to have attracted more leaving. He felt a lot better once they exited the inner city.

Omega had to admit, out of all the places they had visited so far, Tatooine had to be one of her favorites. Though it was hot and sunny, which was the opposite of Kamino, it was different from any other planet they had visited.

She looked around at the now fewer huts and shops as they left the overly crowded markets. She wished that one day her and the batch would be able to explore the galaxy without fearing being caught by the empire.

Omega gazed at the suns beating down on her. She wasn't in the best clothes to be outside, especially in the extreme heat that she wasn't used to. Her mouth was also dry and thinking about water made her crave it more.

A bystander, leaning against a building kept his eyes on the girl walking by. He smiled to himself, slipping a substance in his canteen before advancing towards her.

"Hey, kid."

Omega stopped following Tech to address the Rodian talking to her.

"Umm, who are you?" she questioned him, setting her hand slightly behind her in case she needed her bow.

The stranger didn't seem to mind, or really care.

"I couldn't help but notice that you looked thirsty. Are you a newcomer 'round here?" he asked, ignoring her previous question, handing her the canteen.

Omega held the metal water bottle, hesitant to take a drink. "Yeah, I'm new around here."

The Rodian nodded, gesturing to the water. "Go ahead, you'll need to stay hydrated."

The young girl couldn't help but feel something off about him. His body movement was antsy, like he was nervous to get something over with.

"I-I should probably-" Omega began before getting cut off.

"Omega, I thought I told you to stay close." Tech appeared at her side, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Sorry," she quickly apologized, dropping the bottle to move behind him.

The Rodian grimaced. He would have been on his way if the child wasn't so stubborn. He stepped forward causing the girl's protector to flinch.

"That's close enough."

"Is she with you?" he asked the armored man shielding the blonde girl from his gaze.

"That is none of your concern," Tech said dangerously low, giving the native a sign to leave.

"That's too bad..."

The Rodian pulled out a blaster and aimed at Tech, pulling the trigger. The shot missed, but it did graze his armor.

"Omega, get out of here!" Tech yelled as a green fist came in contact with his helmeted face. The punch had enough force to knock it off, leaving his head unprotected.

He laid on the ground disoriented for a brief moment. His head was spinning, but all that disappeared when he heard the sound of his name being screamed.

The creature had Omega, who was struggling in his arms to get to him. Seeing her being taken away right in front of him caused something inside him to snap.

He grabbed his blaster from his belt and aimed it, just far enough that it would miss Omega. He fired, watching as the Rodian fell to the ground, releasing the girl to clutch his aching arm.

Tech didn't waste his chance. He picked the mysterious stranger up to his feet, loading all his strength into a singular punch to the side of his head.

"Lay a hand on her again and then see where it takes you," he warned, giving what he assumed to be a bounty hunter or slave trader a kick to the stomach.

"Are you okay, Omega?" he gently asked, guiding her to move away.

Omega was trembling. "I'm sorry. I swear I wasn't interested in talking to him."

Tech knelt down to her level. "I know. I could tell by your body language that you were uncomfortable with him. Next time, don't be afraid to call for help, that's why I'm here," he said softly.

"Thank you, Tech." She gripped his hand, not daring to let go until they got back to the Marauder.
