"Ma!" 4 year old Kasani called from the kitchen while Mari sat on the floor in front of her coffee table, sorting through the countless paychecks to see which had to be distributed tomorrow at the studio and which had to be mailed to Cali.
"Yes baby?" Mari called, her eyes still glued to the Macbook screen in front of her.
Kasani scurried across the frosted pine wood floor and into the living room at the sound of his mom's voice. "Wook!" He exclaimed, holding up a drawing he'd just finished.
Mari's eyes flashed to her son and she couldn't help but smile. "It looks so nice, handsome man."
"An-and I een draw Zax!" He stuttered, pointing at the small greyish-black dog he'd drawn on the paper. Kasani's stutters only occurred when he was talking too fast or had a lot to say at once. Mari's deceased brother, Bri'on, had the same stutter when he was younger so it didn't surprise her that her son acquired it too.
