Lucius Annaeus Seneca once said "Death is the wish of some, the relief of many, and the end of all." Jules had experienced death many times, it wasn't anything new to her. Yet it hurt more and more every single time.

She had blacked out after seeing their bodies. She couldn't take it. The stares, the blood, the absence of their heartbeats. It was a sound that had now become familiar to her. The silence.

Scott had thought differently when he heard the sounds coming from above. He thought Jules and Liam were the ones that were hurt. Scott couldn't even look at Jules. Once Malia helped him up from the tunnels all he could feel was guilt. He promised that he would save them and it was the exact opposite.

Brett and Lori Talbot had died.

They were so close to salvation. So close to making it out. But their lives were cut short because of Monroe and Gerard. And all because of what?

Because of fear. Because they felt the supernatural would take over Beacon Hills and they wanted to prevent it. When in reality all they wanted to do was live their lives in peace. They thought supernaturals were the monsters but in reality they were the monsters.

His death was quick. He had already been fighting off the poison. The car was just the tip of the iceberg. His body couldn't heal itself, it had already been through too much damage. The same couldn't be said for Lori. She could feel the pain all throughout her body, she wanted to keep fighting, she wanted to live. But the pain of losing Brett was too much. She felt better knowing he at least wouldn't die alone.

Their bodies were taken to the clinic with the help of Corey who had been at the intersection. People were to scared to even question what was happening. Liam had been exposed, and all they saw was a monster.

Scott and Malia made it back to the Jeep and followed from behind. Liam had been in the back seat holding an unconscious Jules. He tried waking her up so many times, but she just wouldn't. It was like she had died along with them. Her body was cold, her breathe was shallow.

When the group finally made it to the clinic they brought their bodies inside, along with Jules. Their bodies. It was a weird thing to think about. Not even twenty minutes ago they were both alive and breathing. Now they were dead, and Jules might as well be.

Liam laid her down in the exam table and couldn't help but cry as he held her hand. He let her down. It was the only thing running through his head. He tried so hard, and he couldn't save them. No one could. It amazed him how easily a life could be taken, just like that in an instant. It made him wonder how and when he would die.

It's not uncommon to think about it. But that's not the important thing about it. It's not important to think about how or when you'll die. It's important to live your life to the fullest with the time you had. He knew that now. But it didn't mean he wouldn't be struck with guilt.
