Seeing friends that had been gone for so long. You'd think that would be a momentous occasion. The drive back home was filled with Jules filling Kira in on everything that had happened from when she was gone. She didn't expect to come home to a destroyed house, only to find out it was shot up by Monroe and her hunters.

So here she was.

In the waiting room. Waiting. Both her Mom and Dad were shot along with Lydia and also Mason who was injured just not as severely. Malia was in Lydia's room and Kira stayed with Scott. She had been listening in on the surgery, hearing Liam's Dad work through it, telling nurses what to do, updating them on her condition.

Brett sat next to her, holding her hand as she listened. The whole time it was like she was holding her breathe, waiting for her chest to explode because the lack of air was going to kill her.

Once Melissa was out of surgery it felt like she could breathe again. But even then it was like she had something stuck in her throat. A feeling she just couldn't explain. She followed Scott to Melissa's room and seeing her state just fueled Jules with anger.

Melissa opened her eyes slowly and slightly smiled at them. "Hey, kids" She said weakly as Scott tried not to cry. "I'm gonna wait outside, okay?" He turned around only to be stopped by Melissa's voice. "No, wait. Scott, wait. Listen to me—you didn't do this." She says to him while holding his hand. "But I'm responsible. You need to sleep." The guilt in Scotts voice was evident as he talked to her. "I just need to...tell you..." Melissa starts.

"It can wait."

"It can't wait. Don't run...you fight..." The meds the Doctors had given her had started to kick in as she slowly closed her eyes. Scott turned back to look at Jules who looked like she had a million things running through her head. "Where's dad?" He asks taking her out of her dazed state. "He was transferred to San Francisco Memorial. He's gonna be fine." Scott nodded his head and stood up, opening the door to my to me met by Stilinski.

"How's Mason?" Jules asks him. The urgency in her voice broke his heart. In the time Jules knew Mason they had grown close especially after Scott and the rest of the pack graduated. "Already out of surgery." Jules nodded her head when she suddenly felt her phone vibrate. She took out her phone as Scott and Stilinski talked. "Lydia?"

"She's all right, too. The bullet missed everything that matters, thank god. Scott, we got lucky." Jules quickly put her phone away as she smiled discreetly. "They almost died." Scott tells him. "But they're gonna live. We're gonna have two deputies posted here around the clock. Nobody sets foot on this floor without my authorization. Guys, I got a pretty good idea how you're feeling right now. But the whole Sheriff's department is gonna be on this. I am gonna find out who did this."

"We all know who did this." Scott says as he starts walking to the exit with Jules, Brett, Kira and Malia following closely behind him. "Hey, what do we do?" Kira asks him. "No more peace summits. No more running. No more half-measures." Scott says with a determined voice. "What's the plan?" Malia asks.
