Chapter 44

"I have no idea they spent time together in Berlin." Shuichi was itching to know the truth. She didn't tell him anything about befriending Gin.

"I was also surprised." Ethan mumbled and connected a flash drive to his laptop and while he was playing some videos, he was explaining, "Camera footages taken from an establishment and inside the mall that it wasn't Shiori who stepped first but Gin. These footage are already taken and deleted on the original, so as to protect the people who own the establishments."

"So you're saying a high-ranking member from a dangerous organization was stalking my daughter?"

"It's not stalking, Takumi-jii." Ethan explained, "If what Shuichi is saying is true, they first met at the airport. Then the next movement of Gin that connects to Shiori is the massacre on a yacht."

"Massacre?" Yukiko raised a brow.

"They were no evidence but Gin's MO is similar to what killed Shiori's kidnapper months ago. A single shot in their frontal lobe killed the people and as well burning to remove any shreds of evidence. The people he killed were the people who kidnapped Shiori months ago." Ethan didn't want to open the file as to not show Yukiko some burnt corpse floating on a dark sea.

"Why is Gin doing those things for Shiori-nee?" Conan frowned and glanced at Shuichi who is glaring at the photos and videos that might turn to dust if he glared and squint his eyes any further.

"Isn't it obvious?" Yukiko worriedly said while reading the papers where the part of the report is written about a certain night in Berlin, "Yael knew?"  

"I'm getting confused." Takumi mumbled, "I'm having an attack." When he got everyone's attention and sympathy, he added, "Information overload attack." 

"Get him out of here," Yukiko complained but is still the one who dragged her older brother out and had him make some tea, as everyone is busy studying the timeline and events.

Now that the two that are not on the standard of genius in this world got out of the room, Yusaku put his hands together and looked carefully at Ethan, "What is the purpose of you telling this to us?" 

The man without any hesitation stated, "His actions are obvious. Gin started to care for someone and it means-"

"No." A firm voice said and Ethan turned to Shuichi, he looks decisive. "You will not use her as bait for the organization ... We do not involve civilians."

Ethan snorted while confidently looking back at the FBI, "Yeah right. I also did another investigation, Akai-san." He ended by placing a hand on top of Conan's head, indicating he knew Conan's involvement with 'Akai Shuichi's death'.

Jumping up and summoning her skills that she honed for a certain role, Shiori managed to climb up the tree and jump down from the wall fence. Piece of cake, she managed to escape Professor Agasa's eyes because he fell asleep from the meal she cooked for him while Ai-chan seemed to have a slumber party with Ayumi.
