Part 35

The next Friday, you'd settled in enough to invite Katia and Derek over for a small dinner finally. Your tiny dining table looked weird in the penthouse dining room but You and Yoongi had decided you didn't want the giant board room style dining set that had been in the room when you toured originally.

Katia was nearly bouncing when you opened the door to her and Derek.

"This is totally frosty," she said as she handed Derek her coat and wandered straight in. She greeted Yoongi and agreed to a tour, while Derek smiled after her. You took Katia's coat from his hands, and he took off his own coat and handed you the bottle of wine they'd brought with.

You and Derek moved into the living room where the fireplace was going full steam, before hearing Katia squeal from the master bedroom. Followed quickly by "Girl! You did NOT tell me this was here!"

Derek looked at you and you offered to show him.

"I assume she's found the master bathroom," you said smiling. "My reaction was almost the same."

Derek grimaced and hurried up his steps to find his girlfriend. Sure enough, she was standing in the master bathroom, freaking out about the bathtub.

Yoongi looked confused and Derek looked resigned.

"Why don't you show Derek around, I want to show Katia my office," and Yoongi leaned over to steal a kiss before offering to show Derek his studio. You appreciated his gesture and knew you'd have to do something special for the treatment he was showing your friends, you knew exactly how difficult it was for him to open up that space to other people.

"C'mon I want to show you something," you said to the still squealing Katia and dragged her down to the other wing and your office.

She exclaimed the entire way that you had a place with "wings" and how fancy that was before you reached your office and turned on the light.

Katia stopped teasing you when the light came on and she walked into your office and spun around her eyes wide.

"(Y/N)? He paid to move all your books and cases? All of them?" Katia stopped spinning and stared at you.

Your eyes teared up when you saw that Katia realized what this had meant to you when Yoongi had offered to bring all your books with you to the new apartment.

"Yea," you said softly. "There's some here, some in the second master, some in the living room and some in our bedroom, but they're all here. We emptied the storage unit Kat."

Katia's eyes widened at the idea of all of your books in one place again and she reached out to hug you.

"Then he's a much much better man than I gave him credit for (Y/N) and he might be deserving of you after all," said Katia as she squeezed you. You were thrilled she understood exactly how much this had moved you.

"Even if it's only for a little bit, having them all unpacked again means so much to me," you started but were interrupted when Yoongi and Derek appeared in the doorway.

Yoongi stepped into the room and looked at you and Katia.

"Anything for my (Y/N), and this was simple enough," said Yoongi and Katia let go of you and turned to Yoongi.

"It really does mean more than you realize," she said and with that she grabbed Derek's hand to drag him into the second master.

"Smaller bathroom!!!" You called out but Yoongi stepped forward and took you into his arms. Pushing your hair back from your face he leaned over and kissed you breathless. Your arms wound around his waist and clutched at the sweater he'd chosen to wear while you tried to keep up. He drew back and you stared at each other for a moment until Katia's excited voice came through again.

Yoongi leaned down and gave you a forehead kiss before stepping back and taking your hand to draw you into the second master and your overly excited best friend.

After dinner, you gathered in the living room around the little fireplace and chatted about the movie and how things were going, and how bloody cold Chicago was in the winter.

You were trying to explain to Yoongi exactly how cold it was going to be the following week and he just could not accept that it would be negative sixty Celsius in a matter of days, and then go back to freezing, but normal winter in the Midwest temperatures.

Derek and Katia were offering all sorts of advice to a mildly horrified Yoongi and you just pointed to the fireplace.

"We'll just stay in and have the fireplace going. The building has two backup generators, and this floor has another backup by itself," you explained and watched Yoongi relax a tiny bit.

Derek looked at Katia and she sighed and made puppy eyes at him. You laughed at the old argument, and explained to Yoongi, "Their place doesn't have a fireplace and Katia has always wanted one."

Yoongi nodded in agreement.

"Sorry man," he said to Derek and Derek groaned. "I love having it and we're not even really using it for heating, it's just nice to have," finished Yoongi and Derek looked down where Katia was leaning against him and sighed again.

"Our place is just so convenient babe, anyplace with a fireplace is going to shoot our budget, but if you really want it, we can start looking."

Katia sat up and threw her arms around Derek. You laughed having seen this argument several times and Yoongi reached your shoulder and squeezed you into his side. You happily laid your head on his shoulder, and he tilted his head to meet yours.

Katia stopped hugging Derek for a moment to look at you. You were hoping she wasn't going to say anything, but Derek surprised you and said it for her.

"You guys look really good together. You met on set, and you've only been dating a few weeks now right?" Derek looked back and forth between you and Yoongi for an answer.

You froze not knowing how to respond and Yoongi chuckled when he felt you tense up.

"Yes, we've only been dating for a few weeks now, but thanks," said Yoongi and he gave your hair a kiss before sitting back up some.

"It's good to be comfortable in a relationship," said Derek and the conversation moved back to safer topics.

After you'd said your goodbyes and cleaned up a bit, you and Yoongi took turns brushing your teeth before climbing into bed together. Yoongi had turned on the fireplace in the bedroom before Derek and Katia left and you were amused, he was worried about you guys being cold. It was adorable and as you got under the blankets, you told him so.

"(Y/N) is it really going to get that cold here? I can barely tolerate snow now, but it gets colder here?" Yoongi seemed worried so you explained what you normally did during these cold patches, aka not leave the house.

"Yoongi we have the generators, so we'll have the heat to the building, which means we don't have to worry about the pipes freezing. We stay away from the windows, simply because it'll be chillier right next to the windows, especially up this high. We'll order our groceries and be prepared to stay in for as long as it lasts. It's usually three to five days max. We don't have anywhere to go, or anyplace to be. Jason and Derek have both said it's so cold they're going to shut down the set for those few days, which is going to play havoc with the schedule. But no having to go anyplace, and nothing to do." You tried to reassure him and eventually he relaxed a bit and gathered you close.

"Well in that case, we'll just have to stay in and...practice your Korean?" teased Yoongi and you rolled over and proceeded to show him exactly what kind of Korean your tongue wanted to practice the most.
