Part 67

On Saturday night, you sat on the couch for the weekly call but this time with Yoongi in the middle and Hoseok on his left.

Jimin and Tae were on the call first and you were happy to talk to them for a few minutes before Jin was able to log in. You were surprised Namjoon was late, but honestly thought not too much of it until Hobi leaned over and asked.

"Where's Joon?" he asked, and the conversation paused.

No one seemed to know so texts were sent fast and furiously through phones and group chats.

A few minutes later, Joon joined the call, and he was nearly bouncing with excitement.

You found out why a few minutes later when Jungkook was able to join the call.

Still in his military fatigues, looking near exhausted, he smiled to hear the voices of his hyungs all in one place again and waved vigorously to everyone. Namjoon's kids poked their heads on for a moment and the smiling and waving started again.

You sat quietly off to the side, reminded a bit of those first few calls where you didn't actually know anyone and attempted to fade into the couch to not disturb the family's enjoyment of seeing their youngest.

Finally though, Jungkook squinted at the camera, and you thought you'd been outed, but he didn't say anything out loud.

Yoongi caught the motion and grabbed your hand.

"Jungkookie, I want to introduce to you my (Y/N)," he said, and you attempted a half bow while not falling off the couch and offer a quiet "Bangawo" at the same time. You sat up in time to see Jimin looking worried and Tae making his inscrutable face.

Jungkook looked at the camera for a few seconds before nodding and returning the "Bangawo."

You could see that you were somehow making it awkward for Jungkook and so you opened your laptop to the BTS comeback calendar you worked from and turned to Yoongi.

"I'll go," you whispered in English, and he turned to you and shook his head no, but you were already off the couch.

"It was very nice to meet you Jungkooknim. Gentlemen, I've forgotten another appointment, please enjoy your Sunday," and you bowed to the camera and stepped outside the camera range.

Yoongi looked angry and you shook your head no. He hit the mute button and you spoke before he could.

"Yoongi that kid is clearly exhausted and wants the comfort of his brothers and I am an unknown person that just randomly appeared next to his Hyung. He doesn't want to deal with that today, let him enjoy the time with the six of you. I can meet him later," you said and waved before heading off to the bedroom.

You grabbed your phone off the bedside table intending to read a bit before bed, but your LINE was blowing up with messages.

Sighing a bit, you made sure you gave the exact same reasoning to Jimin, Tae, Jin and Hoseok. You wanted Kook to be comfortable with his brothers. You could meet him another time.

Absolutely no one liked your choice, and you weren't sure why. Jungkook was younger, he was literally exhausted, and he wanted his family. Jimin was the most insistent and you applauded his sensitive heart but trying to convince him your feelings hadn't been hurt took ages.

"Jiminie, I can talk with you guys anytime, how often do all six of you get to talk to Jungkook since he's been in," you finally asked and there was a pause before Jimin responded.

"We all talk to him Noona, but not all at once," he acknowledged, and you tried to drive your point home.

"Well, I'm sorry. That probably means he wanted to see and talk to you guys a heck of a lot more than he wanted to put on a polite face and meet me Jimin. Let the child be comfortable and enjoy family time with you guys and I can meet him later. I'm not going away from Yoongi, so I'm sorry I made the kid uncomfortable, but we can deal with that when he's not physically and visibly exhausted. I have to talk to him eventually anyway about the calendar," you pointed out and again there was a pretty long delay before Jimin responded again.
