Part 68

Sunday you were happy to stay tucked up on the couch in the studio while the guys hammered through another session on Hobi's solo tapes. Hoseok often turned to you to intervene until you figured out that he was trying to use your opinion, poor that it was, as a balance against Yoongi. Except that you pretty much unknowingly, constantly sided with Yoongi.

At that point you had laughed, given Hoseok a hug, leaned down and stole a kiss from Yoongi and departed for your own office.

You sent notes to Joon that you understood Yoongi hadn't gone through the calendar on the call and if he wanted you could do that with him at his convenience.

Your laptop signaled an incoming video call almost immediately and you smiled to see Namjoon on the screen.

"Wow thanks (Y/N), I appreciate you doing this again for me," said Joon and you smiled.

"I want to help in any way I can," you said. "And I thought this week was important because, you need to hear the changes I've made to accommodate Hobi's mixtape release."

You opened your calendar to share the screen and had to pause when you hear Joon's voice.

He looked...upset? Angry? You weren't sure, but you thought you'd better check.

"I'm sorry Namjoonnim, did I say something wrong?" You were concerned you'd upset the leader, but he shook his head and bowed.

"No, no (Y/N), I'm sorry I did that again. I totally forgot about Hobihyungs release. I knew he was working it, but I was so focused on the BTS part, I forgot all about what he was doing," he admitted. "If you hadn't said anything, I don't think I'd have remembered to include it," he finished, and you smiled.

"Namjoonnim, I myself didn't even think of it until he was in the apartment with us, so no worries, we remembered in time to address it," you said and Joon shook his head at you.

"No, that's just it (Y/N), you remembered period. You're so new to all of this and it's not really your field of study, right? Yoongihyung said you were an engineer, you're not even in entertainment at all," he said, and you thought it best to interrupt.

"Namjoonnim, I have spent many years now as a project engineer, coordinating very large programs. This part of the BTS comeback is just the coordinating and budgeting and all things I'm familiar with, I don't know anything about the realities of what you guys go through once it leaves paper," you said.

Namjoon stared at you across the monitor and shook his head again.

"I don't think that's it (Y/N), I think you have an aptitude for this type of work," said Joon. He opened his mouth to continue but a voice from the door of your office interrupted.

"You making time with my girl, Joonie?"

You turned to Yoongi and stuck out your tongue.

He smiled to see it and took the few steps into your office to cup your face and bring his lips to yours for a kiss.

Namjoon smiled through the monitor as he watched you two.

"Nah Yoongihyung, attempting to convince her to become BTS's manager full-time," he said.

You blushed, assuming he was joking but Yoongi stood up and seemed to take it seriously.

"That might work," he said contemplatively, and your eyes widened. You looked at Yoongi and shook your head no, but you saw out of the corner of your eye that Joon's face had broken into a huge grin, and you were distressed to see it matched Yoongi's.

"Oh no, no no no. I will help, but that will not end well," you said, and Yoongi started to laugh. But it was Joon who responded.

"I think we might be on to something there, hold on a second," and Namjoon must have put you on mute. You watched on the monitor as he picked up his phone and started a conversation and you looked at Yoongi again.

"Hey Mr. Overlyhelpful, did you want something?" You were a bit annoyed, and Yoongi laughed.

"Nah Babygirl, I came into the kitchen for a drink and heard Joon's voice, so I figured I'd come see what was up," he said as he leaned down to kiss you again.

Hoseok chose that moment to walk into your office and made a noise as he plopped down on the couch.

"Newlyweds indeed," he muttered, and you guys laughed.

You turned to look at Hobi on the couch where he sat with his head leaning against the back and turned back to Yoongi.

"Did you make him run a marathon? What happened?" You were a little worried about Hoseok, but Yoongi laughed.

"He tried to show me a new dance move in the studio," he said, and you were puzzled.

"Hoseok, the studio is so small for that. If you need to torment Yoongi with new dance moves later, we can always move the furniture in the living room," you said and Hobi lifted his head off the back of the couch and smiled.

"Dance Dance Revolution party tonight at Yoongi's place!" Yoongi groaned and gave you a death glare, but Hoseok looked excited at the idea, so you couldn't turn him down now. It was his last night here and you'd told him before he could pick what you three did tonight.

You were about to start into DDR party plans when a noise from your laptop made you turn back around.

A new person had popped into the monitor and Namjoon took himself off mute.

Yoongi made a happy noise and even Hoseok got off the couch to see what was happening on your laptop. The person on the screen looked familiar but you couldn't place him when Hoseok exclaimed behind you.

"Sejin! Yoongi it's Sejin! Hey man how's it going?" Hobi was so excited he was nearly bouncing, and Yoongi leaned into the camera frame and waved.

You thought Sejin looked amused, and your brain finally kicked into gear. This was BTS's first manager, but wasn't he working with TXT or someone else these days? You remembered he'd moved on and usually worked with the brand-new groups. Perhaps he was with Sung-Jin on KAPPA now. This was a big meeting and you were absolutely not prepared.
