Lizzie POV-
"Fishing?!" I say dramatically and y/n can't help but laugh.
"Have you ever been?" She asks curious.
"No. I've never really had an interest. Do you fish a lot?" I ask as she puts our equipment onto the tin boat in front of us.
"I used to fish almost every day with my dad. It was one of the only things we bonded over so we both took advantage of that. I haven't been since I met you though," she explains and I nod. I'm glad she is opening up to her dad to me. I want to know everything about her and her family but she can be so kept to herself sometimes.
"Hop in," she tells me, holding out her hand. I grab it and carefully step into the boat making sure I don't fall.
"You're going to have to teach me what to do. I don't even know how to hold a rod," I say picking one up from the small rack.
"All in good time my love. We have to get to our spot first. Hold on tight okay!" She says and starts the boat.
This life jacket is so uncomfortable and is making me sweat buckets. Y/n won't let me take it off because she wants me to be safe and I appreciate that but it is making it difficult to breathe. She looks really hot driving the boat, I have to admit.
She looks amazing doing anything and it makes me so jealous sometimes. I can take photos of her at the most random times and she looks like a model in ever single one of them. It's not fair. But she's all mine so I am lucky to have her.
I am definitely going to embarrass myself trying to fish, especially since she has so much experience. I'm going to try my best not to complain because I think she misses fishing and her dad even if she doesn't want to admit it.
"We're here!" She says turning off the motor. She grabs our rods and puts these small hooks on the line. She puts this work like thing on the end weaving it through the hook.
"What is that?" I ask her not knowing.
"It's a fake worm. I knew you wouldn't really want to use real ones and these ones work just as well," she explains and I smile.
"Thank you. I definitely wouldn't want to use real ones," I say as she lets go of the hook.
"Okay! So hold your rod like this and put your one hand right here on the reel," she tells me and I try to copy her but can't quite do it right.
"Hang on. I'll show you like this," she says standing behind me. She wraps her arms around my body, grabbing the rod as well. She positions my hands in the right place down to the fingers.
"Good! So then when you want to cast, hold your finger on the line and tilt the rod behind you head. Then as you are bringing the rod forwards, let go of the line and point the rod where you want the hook and bait to land. If you don't get a bite just real it back in with this piece," she explains going through the motions with me.
"Got it?" She asks giving me a kiss on the cheek before backing away.
"I think so. I'll try one," I tell her.
I start by putting my hands on the rod, right where they were before. Then I put a finger on the line, pull the rod back and fling it forwards letting go of the line. The hook lands in a perfect spot right near a log and y/n's face is priceless.
"You've got to be kidding me. We're you lying when you said you haven't done this before?!" She says in shock.
"Yes I'm sure. It's not that hard," I reply and giggle at her reaction.
After a few minutes I sit down and y/n casted her line too. I suddenly feel a tug and a vibration on the rod and panic.
"Y/n my rod! Something happened!" I yell not knowing what to do.
