"Is that it over there?" You asked as you gestured ahead, letting Zephyr gradually slow. There, planted in the middle of Lake Totari, was the uniquely structured Rito Village. "Wow," was all you said as you stared at the tall rocks that made up the village. Though far, you managed to make out the large wooden infrastructures that wrapped around the enormous pillars of rocks. It stood so tall the shadow of the village reached you.

"It is beautiful," Link mumbled, his eyes glued to the village as well, but despite its beauty, he couldn't overlook the massive mechanical beast that circled the village in the skies. The faint groans of the machinery were heard even from where he stood.

"Vah Medoh," you said, pulling the thought of the Divine Beast from Link's head. The bird-shaped machine squawked at the very moment you uttered its name, causing you to frown. The familiar pit of nervousness had started to form inside you, even more so because of Link's silence on the matter of taking you with him. You hoped he would let you, but you weren't about to press on it again. Focus, you told yourself as you pulled back on Zephyr's reins, having her stop beside Epona.

"I wonder how you'll get up there," you said as Link stripped his sight away from the machine to look at you.

"Maybe it'll perch on some big tree and let me climb it," he grinned effortlessly, showing no fear toward the nearing battle he would have with Ganon's creation. Link had the protection of Daruk, Mipha's powerful healing ability, and Urbosa's lightning for the fight, so there was a bit of optimism on his part, but he still couldn't shake the smidge of worry that was buried beneath his grin.

You rolled your eyes with a half-smile and glanced back at the village. "Hmm, well look, there's a series of bridges connecting the valley to the village."

"There's a lot of them," Link noted as he kicked Epona's sides, urging her down the dirt trail that circled Rito Village and the lake that rested deep beneath it. As he got closer to the first bridge, more of the village was visible to him and from a glance alone, he knew you would be fascinated with the architecture of it all.

"We should leave the horses here," you said as Zephyr trotted behind Epona. With the valley filled with rich-coloured grass, you knew it was a perfect spot to leave them—at least for the time being. As you dismounted your horse, you walked toward her saddlebag and rummaged through it until you found what you were looking for.

"Rito Village is pretty high up," Link mentioned as he got off Epona to lead her away from the trail and to an area she could peacefully graze.

"Yeah, and we'll probably need these." You came up from behind him with the blue hoods you had purchased months ago. "Even though they're not incredibly warm, they should suffice for now."

Link smiled at you and took one of the hoods from your hands. "True, and I'm sure the village sells warmer attire since Hebra Region is only a few kilometres away," he said as he put the hood over his shoulders and clipped it on. "Here, let me put it on you."

The blonde took the other one from your hands and once you moved your hair away, he draped it over your shoulders and clipped it. "We're matching again," Link said with a little grin.

You smiled at his small comment and leaned up to peck his cheek. "I see that," you snickered as you took his hand.

As Epona and Zephyr safely grazed away at the grass, Link led the two of you toward the first bridge carefully. Constructed way above the lake that laid meters below, Link glanced back at you and gave you a meek smile. "Don't–"

"—look down, I know. Believe me," you said while keeping your eyes fixated on the end of the bridge. You allowed Link to step onto the structure first before following and while his hold on your hand comforted you, it didn't remove your underlying distress entirely. However, the wood barely creaked as you walked across, easing you with knowledge of its fine construction. Nothing to worry about, you thought. A vague attempt at securing fake confidence in your mind, but it certainly worked.
