CHAPTER 72. King meets Queen
KHALI‘S POV
Dahan-dahan kong binuksan ang pinto ng kwarto ni Kangaroo, nag-aalala na baka magising ko siya. Pero nandito talaga ako para tingnan kung gising na ba siya o hindi pa.
May sasabihin sana ako, kaso tulog pa nga. Pasara na ako ng pinto nung magsalita siya.
“Lili...”
I raised my brows, asking him if he needs anything. He nods down, telling me to come over.
“Did I wake you up?” I asked, a little sorry.
Hinila niya ako at niyakap nang makalapit ako sa kaniya. He pulled my head to his chest and slightly caressed my hair.
“What is it, baby?” he asked in his sleepy voice.
“Nothing...” sabi ko. “Just wanted to check on you...”
I lifted my head to look at him. He opened his right eye to peek at me, it seems that he‘s still sleepy.
He pulled my legs up in the bed and turn me over to the other side. Tumagilid rin siya sa paghiga para magkaharap kami. Hinalikan niya ako sa ibaba ng mata.
“I know that look... I know that tone... So, what is it that my baby wants?” he asked in a hoarse voice.
Sandali akong napatitig sa kaniya. It suddenly felt like I‘m nervous, but it feels better than that. This is how my heart automatically reacts to the man I love whenever he‘s close. It surely recognizes him.
“Tell me, hmm?—Tell me...” he whispered while giving me soft kisses on my face, randomly.
Nakapikit siya pero nakikipag-usap pa rin siya sa akin.
Since he‘s being insistent about it... I decided to tell him. Para makaalis na ako dito.
“Kasi... gusto ko nga lumipat sa Bread and Pastry class...” I paused. “Kaso hindi raw pwedeng mag-transfer hangga‘t hindi natatapos ang second quarter...”
I pouted for a moment as I remember how my adviser rejected my request to transfer. I actually don‘t want to ask Kangaroo for things like this but I need to transfer to that class and he‘s the only one who can help me.
“Alright, I‘ll transfer you right away.” he said without a second thought.
“Really? Thanks...” I hugged him and gave him a peck on the lips. It made him smile. “Kahit ano nalang—kahit after this quarter.”
“Did you finally give up on cooking?” he chuckled.
“No... I‘m just... taking a break.” sabi ko.
We remained silent for awhile. He was randomly kissing me while he‘s half asleep, I think?
“Matulog ka muna...” sabi ko. I was about to get up but he pulled me back, even closer. He pressed his lips against my cheek, his lips softly brushes against my skin as he speak.
“What were you doing?” he asked.
“Nothing...” I replied. I was pretty bored actually.
