I don't know how long we've stood only inches apart from each other but what I do know is that my heart is pounding so fast in my chest and possibly Daniel could hear it if he listened hard enough.

How it happened, I don't know. What is real, I don't know either because right now my head was spinning from fear, nervousness, anxiety and the likes of it.

We closed the inches between us as we could now feel each other's breath on our lips. Time was going slow and I can't think straight of what I'm doing right now.

"Oh hey, you're still here-" Melissa's voice pipped up from behind me and I swear it's like lightning just struck Daniel and I because we pulled apart from each other within a nanosecond.

Daniel's face had gone pale like he had seen an actual ghost or some mystical human sacrifice going on right in his presence. I had the same horror expression. He tried to speak as he opened his mouth but closed it immediately still a bit shaken.

Mellisa looked at both of us as if we had lost a screw as no one said anything.

"Did I interrupt something?" She asked raising a brow

"N-nothing at all, we-"

"I was just leaving" Daniel says shakily and turns to go.

"I'm so sorry, I did not mean to scream like a maniac, please don't be mad at me, It's not everyday some celebrity walks into your house, I promise it was just a reflex.." Mellisa continued her babbling but Daniel turns to her and softly says,

"It's okay, I'm not mad at you, I-" he trailed off a bit and looked at me before averting his eyes.

"Something came up" he said thoughtfully.

"I'm not convinced, I still feel it's my fault" Mellisa said innocently.

Daniel only closed his eyes like he was about to get a migraine then opened then just as immediately and he shoved his hands into his Louis Vuitton joggers and brought out a few hundred dollar bills and handed it to Mellisa who hesitated at first and looked at me with questioning eyes I nodded slowly and she accepted them with shaky hands.

"T-t-thank you" she said and hugged Daniel who was taken aback by her actions but hugged her back.

"I knew you were different, my brother is so lucky to have you" she said and pulled out of the embrace and fist bumped Daniel before running to her room with her riches and all I could do was stand there transfixed thinking about one thing,

I almost kissed Daniel Ferreira, My fucking boss.

"See you at school tomorrow, Marc" he said stiffly before he exited through the door and a couple of seconds later I could hear the rumbling of a car engine and then it zoomed off to God knows where.

I just hope I haven't messed things up.

"Dude, come back to us" Jake said waving his hand at my face.

I came back to reality and I realized I had been staring into an empty space, which usually isn't empty because it belongs to the person I almost kissed yesterday.

Daniel never missed a class, I wonder what changed. I wonder what I had changed.

"If you continued staring at his seat it might actually catch on fire" Addison said chuckling a bit and Jake joined in.

I roll my eyes at them.

"That reminds me, I can't believe I forgot..." Addison said facepalming.

"You didn't fill me in on what happened yesterday... did you two make up and maybe you know share a lil bit of..." She licked her lips in demonstration.

I groan in response.

"I'll take that as a yes and no" Addison said and thankfully a teacher walks in, I don't think I have ever felt so happy for a teacher to come to class because knowing my friends they'll squeeze all information out of me with loads of questions... even if they have to wait.

Cheetos is usually a place that has a good number of influx of people but ever since Daniel paid an unexpected visit, it's been getting a lot more attention lately. It even appeared in the local paper and Mr. Alfred even hired new employees to help.

"It felt great to get my pay raised but now I can't even feel my legs" Sophie said looking exhausted.

I can't blame her, tables fill to capacity and every hour new faces show up and online orders haven increased just as much.

I no longer work as a waiter but I also have to help in the sorting of online orders.

Great. Just great.

"I just want to focus on the bright side Sophie, more money" I said to her as we were almost closing but a few people still lingered.

Mr. Alfred also did not let us go till everyone had left. Clearly he's a replica of Mr. Krabs, except for the absence of long eyes and claws.

"You sound like Mr. Alfred" Sophie said, lowering her voice and looking around.

I only laughed in response.

Finally, all the customers leaves and we have little chitchats along the way and finally disperse one after the other to our various abodes.

I arrive home tired and exhausted but that was the opposite for Bryan and Mellisa who always wait up for me to bring something from Cheetos. It's like some kind of toll I have to pay before I get permitted to enter into my own house.

I change from my work clothes into something more comfortable, dinner was something light so I finished it quickly and went up to my room.

I lay on my bed contemplating what to do, maybe I should just let it be, I made a mistake and mistakes happen, right?

I immediately picked up my phone to do what I've been avoiding for a while now, but the universe beat me to it.

Daniel Ferreira is calling me and all I could just do was slide it to answer with trembling hands.

"Hey"
