I was grounded for what felt like forever.

Ok, I'm exaggerating it a bit but it did feel like that especially after escaping from a house I was being held hostage in. The days actually flew by much quicker than I thought. It's probably because I occupied myself with finishing up my school work with the help of my friends - who didn't come over cause I was grounded - but they sent me stuff to aid me since we literally almost take the same classes and then there was video calls and texting which can't beat the real thing of being there in person.

I got to see them again when school resumed and the bone crushing hugs I got... No but seriously, Jake's strong arms nearly crushed me. Fuck him for being damm so athletic. With Addison we were a little bit emotional and I got a slap from her the very next second for leaving the house in the first place at night when I was supposed to be babysitting.

I kinda deserved that tho.

I didn't get to see Sophie or go to Cheetos either up until a few days when my parents decided I've suffered enough.

She hugged me too but thankfully there was no slap which I lowkey feared it would come. Sophie proceeded to how she thought she would work alone for the rest of her life without her work buddy.

Mr. Alfred on the other hand thought I had forgotten to take a leave because my exams were coming up, so we were good there and my job is still secure. I'm gonna miss this place when I leave. Most people hate their workplace and never look back when they resign or quit but I don't know... there's something about working here that just feels different.

I agree there are some days you'd feel like plucking the hairs on your head one by one because of some customers but there the good days too, when the customers are kind, polite and leaves a tip. Nevertheless, This place brings so much memories even from a little age when mom and dad brought us here. They still do actually. There was this one occasion where they both brought Bryan here on my shift... it was kinda awkward at first but the feeling passed away soon after. Although dad gave me his signature wink to remind me about the after work food I brought home.

Mr. Ferreira called me unexpectedly some days after I was ungrounded for a dinner to clear the air. I was surprised to say the least but accepted his invitation still. He apologized for misjudging me and accusing me.

"I'm also sorry..." I said without thinking causing him to raise a brow.

"For what? You did nothing wrong" he said looking at me before taking a sip of his wine.

"Yes Sir, I mean... I..." I was a stuttering mess at this point. I don't know why I have to be so stupid when trying to give a good impression around Daniel's parents.

"Relax...just call me Mr. Ferreira" He says and all I do is smile to avoid embarrassing myself.

"Now about you and Daniel-"

I began choking on the wine I was drinking and he gave me a knowing look but didn't dwell on it which made me all the more red as a tomato right now.
